Costa fans have been sent into a frenzy as the coffee chain has partnered up with one of the nation's favourite chocolate brands.

In collaboration with Nestle, a brand new KITKAT Frappe, featuring whipped cream and crunchy chocolate pieces will make its debut, along with the return of the KITKAT Mocha and KITKAT hot chocolate. Prices start from £4.10.

The company confirmed this week that three new drinks will launch nationwide as part of its Easter menu - but warns they will only be available for a limited time. Those with a Costa Club membership will be able to try the new additions early, starting on February 29.

The limited-edition KITKAT drinks will be in stores nationwide until March 14, subject to availability. They all come with a free KITKAT Bunny served on the side if ordered in-store or for takeaway.

Unsurprisingly, the announcement thrilled hundreds of Costa lovers who said they couldn't wait to try the new chocolatey drinks. "Oh my, they look and sound bloody lovely," one person wrote on Facebook. Another commented: "Oh my gosh I need one of them." While a third added: "Sounds yummy to me."

Despite its soaring popularity, Costa has closed four of its 2,000+ stores this year - and got rid of 11 outlets in 2023. The most recent closure was its Bruntsfield Place branch in Edinburgh.

A Costa spokesperson said: "We can confirm that our Costa Coffee store on Bruntsfield Place will close its doors for trade on the 14th of February 2024. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Customers can continue to enjoy their favourite Costa coffee at our nearby store on Morningside Road."

The coffee chain has not commented on the reason behind the closures but noted that there were Costa sites close by to the ones that shut. The company also states that it 'regularly reviews its stores and seeks opportunities to innovate'.
