Meghan Markle has not been asked back for the upcoming Suits revival, it has been confirmed.

Show creator Aaron Korsh does not plan to include Markle’s character in the new spin0off set in Los Angeles, The Mirror has learned exclusively. Korsh is working on a pilot and series treatment for NBC of Suits: L.A - a spinoff that will follow a new cast of characters at a firm on the West Coast.

However, The Duchess Of Sussex is not in the frame at all at this stage for any kind of offers, despite reports suggesting an acting comeback is on the cards.

The showrunner reportedly wants his new version to succeed on its own without bringing in the former stars of the first run, which has broken Netflix streaming records. Korsh’s close friend and ex Suits actress Rachael Harris broke the news at the 11th Make-up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild (MUAHS) Awards in Beverly Hills on camera.

Speaking exclusively Harris, who appeared in Suits as Sheila Sazs, Louis Litt's on-and-off again love interest for several seasons, revealed: "Well, this is the thing -the only thing I know the truth is, is that Aaron Korsh who created the original Suits I know personally: and of course when I got wind that they were doing a Suits LA I was like, okay, so when am I working? And he was very clear with me that no one from the previous cast is going to be in Suits LA."

She continued that the door remains slightly ajar for Markle, although no firm full-time role is on the table.

She explained: "He didn't say that there couldn't be a crossover or there couldn't be a cameo appearance from one of us at some point. But he said this is its own entity. Much like all the CSIs and all the Bruckheimers, right? Where they have CSI, Vegas, Los Angeles, on the moon everywhere. So I feel confident that they want this to soar on its own without any of the original cast. That doesn't mean that we won't pop in."

Korsh has not even mentioned Markle to friend Harris, known for major roles in Lucifer and as Nora Parker in the Disney+ series Goosebumps. Harris added: “He has not said anything to me about Megan popping in. We don't talk about the Duchess. It's rude. She has enough going on. You know what I mean? Let's leave her alone for God's sake. Right.”

In recent months speculation has run wild about Markle coming back after she retired from acting after marrying Prince Harry in 2018. During the Golden Globes red carpet, Co-star Patrick J Adams smiled and when asked about "what would it take financially to woo Markle back?"

He replied: "To acting in Hollywood? You know better than I do? I don’t know. Good luck. She has got a lot going on?" He had a different answer than Harris when asked whether the show's bosses would want her back. Adams responded: "Yeah. I think Meghan is an incredible actress. She was amazing in the show. I hope so."

He added:"We'd be lucky to have her back in the industry."

Although Adams claimed producers "didn’t tell us anything" about the potential new series, he said it would be a "completely separate world within the Suits’ world."
