The Masked Singer UK fans speechless as David Tennant appears on ITV show
The Masked Singer UK fans were left stunned on Saturday night as David Tennant made an unexpected appearance.
The hit ITV series launched earlier this year and Saturday night's final saw Cricket,Bigfoot andPiranha take to the stage in a bid to impress the judges -Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora, Mo Gilligan and guest Rob Brydon - one last time.
However, viewers got more than they bargained for when Doctor Who legend David, 52, appeared on the show for a special segment, where he would read bedtime stories littered with clues for each contestant during the final.
The Masked Singer UK fans were left stunned on Saturday night as David Tennant made an unexpected appearance (ITV)Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: "Oh I do love seeing David Tennant on my screen #TheMaskedSingerUK #maskedsingeruk", a different account put: "Getting David Tennant as a guest on Masked Singer after all the speculation of last series is genius #maskedsingeruk", another fan wrote: "They’ve got David Tennant on. I don’t believe it. The chances of him taking part have increased exponentially. #maskedsingeruk" while another added: "I love that David Tennant agreed to do this. And like everything he does, gave it 1000%. #MaskedSingerUK."
The Masked Singer UK 2024 launched earlier this year with 12 new characters - Owl, Air Fryer, Bubble Tea, Eiffel Tower, Chicken Caesar, Piranha, Maypole, Cricket, Bigfoot, Dippy Egg, Weather and Rat. Weather became the first character to be unmasked as soul music legend Dionne Warwick and next up was Chicken Caesar who turned out to be Alexander Armstrong.

The third character to be revealed was Rat who was unmasked as Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas while the next character was Bubble Tea who was revealed to be Julia Sawalha. The fifth character revealed was Owl as Lorraine Kelly.

In the penultimate episode of The Masked Singer UK last week, Airfryer was revealed to be Greatest Showman star Keala Settle while Eiffel Tower was revealed to be 80s pop sensation Tiffany.
The Masked Singer UK first launched in 2020 where Nicola Roberts was announced as the winner after being unmasked as Queen Bee. Since then, Joss Stone won in 2021 as her character Sausage, Natalie Imbruglia won in 2022 as her character Panda and Charlie Simpson won in 2023 as Rhino.
