GMB viewers switch off after 'car crash' debate with Kate Garraway and Ed Balls

Good Morning Britain viewers struggled to follow a "car crash" interview on ITV on Thursday, as Ed Balls and Kate Garraway hosted the show.

The discussion was around whether the Home Office should pay social media influencers to discourage migrants from unsafe journeys. Viewers were not pleased with those on the show talking over each other during the talk about social media influencers potentially being paid big bucks to push immigration laws.

This prompted an online uproar as frustrated viewers complained about the guests and the hosts speaking over each other, with many "muting" their TVs. One vented: "Omg shut up!!! # GMB."

Another said: "They all talking at once STOP I can't follow! #gmb." Another chimed in with: "Car crash interview," as one questioned: "#GMB Why aren't they letting the man speak? Just they are all talking over him."

Other viewers compared the interview to schoolyard chatter. One commented: "Sounds like the playground at the local school only the kids talk more sense #gmb." Another added: "This 'debate' section on GMB is so embarrassing. It's just 15 minutes of everyone talking over each other every time I see it #GMB."

A further comment read: "Wow! So annoying watching Good Morning Britain this morning. Had to mute it. The noise of them talking over each other! #gmb.", as the fusillade of voices made following the conversation impossible.

Meanwhile, a guest on the show stated: "Just to be clear and factual about this... The only way the Rwanda policy would be included in those videos is by making it clear to people that if you come into this country illegally." They added, "A, don't do it because of the perilous journey, you'll be putting your own life at risk."

They continued, "But if you do come into this country illegally, the Rwanda policy is a flagship government policy. It is a statement of fact." The conversation soon moved on to the next segment, but not all viewers were keen to continue watching the episode.
