NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has praised the first Super Bowl in Las Vegas as an "incredible success", instantly declaring it will return.

Despite Vegas' complicated history with sports due to its gambling links, hosting the biggest American sporting event marked a significant moment. The Kansas City Chiefs clinched a thrilling 25-22 win over the San Francisco 49ers in overtime, making it a memorable first Super Bowl in Las Vegas.

"It was an incredible success," Goodell said on Monday morning. "It's safe to say the NFL looks forward to coming back."

At a press conference where he officially passed on Super Bowl hosting duties to New Orleans, Goodell commended the Las Vegas Raiders and owner Mark Davis for their role in bringing the game to the impressive Allegiant Stadium.

"It doesn't happen without the Raiders' support," he said. "I've mentioned all week that Mark Davis was talking about how can we have a Super Bowl here in Las Vegas before they relocated. You could feel the energy here... the hospitality here, you outdid it."

Las Vegas has openly expressed its wishes to host the prestigious Super Bowl once again, soon. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell humorously said at the presentation, "I think I got the message about having another Super Bowl in Las Vegas!"

After winning their second consecutive Super Bowl, Chiefs star Travis Kelce sang "Viva Las Vegas" for the crowd, while his girlfriend Taylor Swift watched, causing some fans to suggest she felt embarrassed.

Next year sees the Super Bowl head to New Orleans, marking the city's 11th time as host. The last time they hosted was in 2013 when havoc ensued due to a power cut during the match between San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens.
