Kailyn Lowry, whose journey to motherhood has been well documented across five seasons of MTVs ‘Teen Mom’, is now a mother of seven, after welcoming twins, Valley and Verse, prematurely at the end of last year with her partner, Elijah Scott.

The twins, who Lowry has admitted made her family ‘complete and whole’ have joined their other child Rio (14 months old), and her four other children – Isaac (14), Lincoln (10), Lux (six), and Creed (three), who she shares with three previous partners.

However, while fans of the 31-year-old mother were thrilled with the news that the babies were doing well (after arriving by C-section five weeks early and spending time in the neonatal intensive care unit), the news of the names that didn't make the cut hasn’t gone down so well online, causing quite a baby name furore.

Known throughout her time on TV for her ‘feisty attitude’ and 'steely determination’, the mother, who is also a New York Times bestselling author, took to TikTok to reveal the long list to her 3.1m followers.

Taking to the social media platform, her video, which had 143k views, saw the Delaware-based mother reveal that her potential boys' names were: Golden, Spade, Croix/Kroy, Wells, Penn and Miller, while girls names were: Wilhelmina, Sway, Scotlyn, Anastasia, Ivory/Ivy, Millie, Halo, and Selah/Sayla.

She said: “I liked Golden, I was obsessed with it, but when I found out Nick Cannon used it, it was a no from me,” she said, while admitting that her partner Elijah wouldn’t budge on the name of ‘Sway’ for their little girl.

Viewers were divided, with one commenting: “You are the female Nick Cannon so it works,” with another saying: “What name hasn’t Nick Cannon used?”

After the list was also revealed on Reddit, many readers were equally as quick to judge, with one commenting: “Personally I think Wells is alright for a boy, but you wouldn’t catch me naming my baby Spade,” while another said: “Weird that she was better at picking baby names when she was 16 than she is at 30.”

Others told of their own experience with ‘terrible’ twin names, with one revealing: “I went to school in the mid 1980s with a set of twins named Claudine and Claudette,” said one, while another commented: “I knew a Terry, whose twin was Merry.”
