Harry Potter and Prisoner of Azkaban's 'sexy hidden scene' no one noticed
A very surprising, and easy-to-miss detail in the third Harry Potter film contains a naughty adults-only moment that was originally meant to be edited out.
If you're a big fan, by now, you've probably seen every Harry Potter film at least 10 times and think you know all there is to know about the wizarding world. of Harry and his friends.
But it turns out there's one little detail in the third movie that even the most devoted of Potterheads might have missed. A great number of people discovered that there's a rather raunchy scene in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
The sexy moment is hidden in the credits of the film and was revealed by the man responsible for creating them, Rus Wetherell. The credits are displayed on the Marauder's Map and they go on for a lengthy 11 minutes.
Footsteps are seen walking about the grounds of Hogwarts during the credits, but as they reach the section for motion control cameras, there's something rather naughty happening in the left-hand corner of the screen.
'I don't want children staying up late at weekends - I really need adult time'
Off to the side, there appears to be an alcove, and in that alcove are two pairs of feet. One person is seen stood with their back to the wall, legs apart. The other is stood in between their legs and clearly the two are sharing a secret, passionate moment. Both sets of feet move ever so slightly as the credits continue.
Did you ever spot this?!Wetherell explained the scene to Huffington Post. He said: "There was an alcove in the artwork, it was kind of like an opportunity to have a couple of students hiding in there. So I just threw a couple of feet down. It was just something there that was amusing for the adults in the audience and kids wouldn't really understand."
He added that he spotted the little alcove at around 4am one morning and added the feet for fun, but planned to go back later and edit them out. However, they were seen by director Alfonso Cuaron, who immediately started laughing. So they stayed.
The credits took around 20 days to animate and complete and at the time the sequence was the longest of its kind.
Back in 2020, fans on Reddit speculated about the feet, wondering if they're meant to show two people actually having sex. One person wrote: "If that's not a sex move I don't know what is."
Another commented: "It's very clearly meant to be a couple kissing." A third added: "Whoa. Who could those two be??"
