Louise Thompson's fiance shares new update after over two weeks in hospital
Louise Thompson's fiance Ryan Libbey has issued an update on her condition after she was hospitalised.
The former Made In Chelsea star was hospitalised last month with her fiancé Ryan Libbey confirming the news on social media. Louise has suffered from severe health issues and complications since giving birth to her first child at the end of 2021. The reality TV star broke down in tears in December last year, as she detailed her bid to recover from PTSD two years on from the traumatic birth of her child.
Ryan took to Instagram on Sunday (February 4) to confirm that Louise had been in the hospital for almost two weeks, with no indication of when she could be discharged. Now, Ryan has given a fresh update on the mum-of-one and revealed she will be returning home soon.
Taking to his Instagram Stories, Ryan shared a snap of his kitchen and told followers: "Louise is coming home." Prior to this, Ryan confirmed that their son Leo had only seen Louise in hospital once, despite her lengthy stay. Posing on his Instagram Stories, Ryan said: "We just got back from visiting mummy in hospital. That was the first time Leo has seen her in 13 days.
"It was a difficult, emotional and confusing experience for him, but fortunately after a few minutes, Leo was cuddling up in bed with his mummy singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. The video I took is probably the most precious thing I now own now. Louise is recovering well. Thank you all again for so much for your messages of support."
TOWIE's Chloe Brockett makes cheeky dig at Saffron Lempriere during filmingOn Sunday, Ryan posted a snap of himself and Leo as he explained the little one was missing his mother. "Louise has been in hospital for 12 days now," he began as he broke the news to his followers. "We don't know when she will be ready to come home yet. But thank you to everyone who has sent messages of love and support to our family. It does help." Ryan then shared a snap of himself and son Leo-Hunter, two, and confessed: "We're missing mummy everyday."
Louise hasn't posted on her Instagram since January 29, when she shared a series of snaps of her little son enjoying a luxury holiday abroad. In her lengthy caption, the reality star said: "When you have kids, stress, illness, age, or anything against you, you might find yourself in a position where you have to start using your resources a little more wisely" and share how she is learning to "learning to lean into and be grateful for those imperfect in-between moments because nothing lasts forever.
Louise and Ryan welcomed their first "little miracle baby" in November 2021, but the birth was dramatic and left both mother and baby "dancing with death". Despite giving birth in November, Louise almost didn't make it home for Christmas due to serious complications. The former Made in Chelsea star was confined to a wheelchair and spent a month in hospital recovering.
She kept the arrival of her first child private for five weeks. During this time, she experienced things that reminded her how precious life is. Doctors worked tirelessly to save Louise's life - with the grateful star later admitting that she doesn't know if she would be alive without the NHS.
Just two days before Christmas 2021, Louise announced the arrival of her baby on Instagram. She also shared the happy news that she was being discharged from hospital to continue her recovery at home. "5 weeks ago I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy Leo-Hunter Libbey weighing in at 7lbs. Unfortunately it wasn't the easiest start for either of us. One ended up in NICU and the other ended up in ICU," she told her many Instagram followers at the time.
Louise continued to recall how little Leo-Hunter got better quite fast, but she had to fight "so many bad things" and the experience left her looking at life differently. "To dance with death twice brings a whole new view of the world," she shared openly in her message.
