Miley Cyrus leads stars rocking 'mob wife aesthetic' trend with look at Grammys
Big fake fur coats with even bigger hair, animal prints and chunky gold jewellery, it can only be the “mob wife” aesthetic.
And now this OTT TikTok trend has officially gone mainstream - thanks to Miley Cyrus ’ oh-so 80s look at the Grammys.
Sofia Vergara’s Netflix hit Griselda, based on real-life Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco, is taking a lot of the heat for the renewed love of 70s and 80s glam.
And - rather bizarrely - it’s also being fuelled by the 25th anniversary of the cult series The Sopranos, thanks to its ongoing fans and Drea de Matteo as the ultimate mob moll Adriana La Cerva. But unlike other recent social media trends, this is one celebs can’t seem to get enough of.

Jennifer Lopez, 54 has been snapped looking polar bear-fierce in her all-white ensemble teamed with sparking silver boots. Demi Moore, 61, kept it mob wife chic in her fur coat over her eye-catching green gown.
And even the doyenne of understated luxury, Stella McCartney, 52, has succumbed - opting for a thigh-skimming tiger-print mini-dress with matching heels, while at Kate Moss’s recent 50th birthday bash. Kanye West ’s ex Julia Fox, 34, demonstrated - in case anyone was unsure it’s about being a vamp, not a tramp.

But no one went quite as in your face as Miley’s super coiffed hair and barely there gold dress. Talk about a look that only a old school mob wife could pull off. She confessed to a lack of underwear, but like all her fellow molls, she didn’t forget the hairspray - or the attitude.
