Nothing beats the smell of freshly baked banana bread, and it's so easy to make.

Baking can be a great stress-relieving activity, and you have the added benefit of tucking into something delicious when you take your creation out of the oven. But sometimes, baking cakes can take far too long, especially if you don't have much time in the evening and want to wind down from a day's work with something simple.

Enter the humble banana bread loaf. Banana bread serves as a good source of vitamins and minerals thanks to the potassium and vitamin B6 present in bananas, and what's more, you don't have to spend too long in the kitchen before the loaf goes in the oven - especially not with this easy all-in-one recipe.

Candice Bannister from Candy's Cupcakes shared her three-ingredient banana bread recipe with The Express, where she said that despite the recipe only containing three ingredients, it is guaranteed to remain moist even after cooking.

She said: "Thanks to the combination of golden syrup and bananas, you don't need to worry about this banana bread coming out of the oven too dry, as both ingredients will keep it moist and delicious. You must make sure your bananas are fully ripe though, as this will make the banana bread taste sweeter and more flavoursome."

So if you want to give the easy banana bread recipe a go, here's what you'll need.

Ingredients

  • 3 large ripe bananas
  • 200g self-raising flour
  • 100g golden syrup

Method

Cooking this banana bread recipe couldn't be easier. First, preheat your oven to 180C and line a standard-sized loaf tin with parchment paper. Then, peel and mash the bananas into a large mixing bowl, using a fork.

Weight out the flour and carefully sieve it into the banana mixture, combining everything with a spoon to make a thick dough. Next, stick the golden syrup into the mixture too, and give the dough another stir to combine everything together.

Finally, transfer the dough into the loaf tin and stick it in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the loaf is golden brown.
