Ashley Cain was seen with tears in his eyes as he discussed his late daughter Azaylia whilst getting a new tattoo tribute.

Azaylia was eight months old when she passed away in 2021, less than a year after she'd been diagnosed with a form of leukaemia at just eight weeks old. Her parents Ashley, 33, and Safiyya Vorajee, 33, went on to set up the charity the Azaylia Foundation in her honour following her death.

Over the years, Ashley has showcased tattoo tributes to his late daughter. He took to Instagram this week to share that he'd got more inking in remembrance of Azaylia, having visited Vivid Ink tattoo studios in the West Midlands. Footage shared from the session on YouTube showcased the tattoo that Ashley had done. It had seemingly been inspired by Disney's the Lion King (1994), with characters from the animated film having been inked on his stomach.

Above artwork referencing the film was text that read "likkle lion". Discussing the description, Ashley explained in the video: "That's what she was to me. She was strong. She was fearless. She was majestic. And she was so beautiful." There was also a quote, which featured in the live-action remake from 2019, that read: "While others search for what they can take, a true king searches for what he can give." Ashley similarly discussed his decision to get that inking.

The reality TV star - who recently welcomed a son into the world - said: "After losing my little girl, I want to spend the rest of my life giving back to the world because of all the things that she taught me. She taught me that even through your darkest days, you can give light to others." Underneath was her name, Azaylia Diamond Cain, and text that read: "My endless love."

Ashley shared in the recent video: "She will forever and always be the love that fills my heart. The thing that makes my heart beat. The fire in my belly to be the best person that I can be and to achieve everything that I need to achieve in this world in the hope that one day I'll join her again for eternity in Heaven."

The bottom of the tattoo on his stomach included the quote "remember who you are" and "strong" in bold. Ashley said about the former: "[Thinking of Azaylia] makes me remember who I am and why I'm doing the things I'm doing." The tattoo studio also shared footage of Ashley getting the tattoo itself. The former footballer was seen getting emotional at times whilst discussing Azaylia. This included when asked to share "the lowest point" of his experience.

He told tattoo artist Jake Wilkes: "People out there with kids know how important they are. We'd do anything for them. The most important thing we will ever have on this Earth. We'd do anything for them. We'd give our lives for them. To be lying next to your child while you're counting her last breaths, it's a pretty low moment. Seeing that last breath of air leave her body and realising that that's the last time you're ever gonna see your little girl is a low moment."

He continued: "Walking around your house holding your little girl, who is no longer breathing anymore, and thinking that it'll be alright to keep her like that for the rest of your life, just so you can have her and hold her, is a low moment." Ashley - who described Azaylia as his "hero" in the session - went on to recall planning her funeral, writing a eulogy and visiting her resting place, suggesting that they were "low moments". He added in the footage: "I could go on."

He shared clips from the footage on Instagram this week and wrote about Azaylia alongside one of them: "You are my hero. My inspiration. My motivation. The strength that gets me through every single day. Even though you're gone, my life goes on through the guidance of your love."
