Ashley Cain shares difficult chat with ex telling her he's becoming a dad again
Ashley Cain has revealed his conversation with his ex Safiyya Vorajee to break the news he is going to be a dad again 'wasn't easy'.
The former footballer, 33, will welcome his second child to the world next month. The news comes two years after the devastating death of his firstborn daughter Azaylia, whom he shared with aesthetic practitioner Safiyya, 35. The ex-couple were left devastated after Azaylia died at eight months old, after she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia eight weeks into her life.
Ashley shared the heartbreaking news of Azaylia's passing with his followers on social media and wrote at the time: "Rest in paradise princess. I will always hold you in my heart until I can hold you again in heaven." Safiyya added: "You are my Angel my heartbeat my soul, RIP my precious baby, you will always be with me like a handprint on my heart."
The Ex on The Beach star and Safiyya supported each other through the tragic death of their firstborn before eventually going their separate ways last year. Before their break-up, they'd set up The Azaylia Foundation – which aims to support families and their children fighting cancer – in honour of their daughter. They both continue to work tirelessly in the foundation, raising funds and awareness.

He told The Sun on Sunday: "It was painful for Safiyya but it was also painful for me as well to talk to her. We haven’t been together for a while now and it is inevitable that at some stage people are going to move on with their lives — that doesn’t mean that we can’t be friends and have an amazing relationship."

He added: "I know Safiyya will always support me and I will always be there to support Safiyya. It wasn’t an easy conversation or filled with smiles but it was a conversation that had a lot of truth and respect."
The TV star and charity fundraiser, 33, is due to welcome a baby boy with a long-term friend. Ashley explained the news was "very difficult" to process. Ashley confirmed that he will be having a little boy, with Azaylia "happy" that she will have a little brother to watch over and "protect" – after he visited her grave to speak to his late daughter. The star revealed he is not in a relationship with the mother of his unborn son, but said they have been friends since the age of 18.
