'Perfect' YSL lipstick that 'stays on all day' has 50% off at Boots
Buying designer products, for many of us, is a bit of a treat that only occurs on special occasions like payday, birthdays or Christmas - or when a sale is on. Thankfully, Boots fans are in luck as its up to 70% sale is still going strong with a whole host of big-name beauty names having prices of their products slashed - such as Yves Saint Laurent and its Rouge Pur Couture The Slim Lipstick.
Usually costing £30, the luxury lipstick that is one of the designer brands' bestsellers thanks to its full coverage, buttery application and matte finish has been reduced to just £15, which is great for those who are in dire need of stocking up - but be quick as they're sure to sell out fast.
The lippy, which is a firm favourite amongst beauty buffs for its "great colour and amazing staying power", has an 'intense highly pigmented' colour and with its square bullet shape, application of it is easy and saves you needing a lip liner to help create a smooth, feather-free finish.
One shopper even stated that the "super hydrating" lipstick helps to give your skin a "glow" - which is always an added bonus. The proof for the quality and popularity of the product is evident in the hundreds of five star reviews on Boots' website, with a whole host of beauty lovers stating they are 'obsessed' with this product and return time and again to buy it.
"Ysl lipstick is my FAVOURITE!" said one fan. "It glides on, is highly pigmented and stays put!! No awkward 'clumping' with coverage or drying out of your lips. I love it! With this formula I didn't get any bleed, so didn't need to use a lip liner. Really beautiful product."
Kate Middleton swears by £19.99 rosehip oil that helps 'reduce wrinkles & scars'A second added: "Easy to apply once used to it. No need for lip pencil with this method of application. Once on it stays put! (Until ready to remove of course.) I found no transfer if blotted. Comfortable to wear, does not dry my lips. I have a few, and keen to expand my collection."
A third stated: "This lipstick, which I have bought recently is perfect. I can't tell it's there. There's no smell or transference and it stays all day! I love it!"
Finding that perfect lipstick that does the trick in staying put all day long and not drying out your lips is a challenge in itself and spending £30 on trying one out just in case isn't that tempting. With the sale in place, however, it makes investing in this particular product that little bit easier on the purse strings.
With the shape of the YSL lipstick, which has been praised as 'timeless', being a little different to usual, a number of shoppers found it hard to get the hang of the square tip and left three star reviews as a result. "I love the packaging and design of this lipstick and wanted to love it so much. However I found the angle quite difficult to master no matter how hard I tried! I prefer a normal bullet shape," said one.
While there are usually a plethora of options when it comes to shades with this particular lippy, in Boots' sale only three colours are available: 21 Rouge Paradoxe, 10 Corail Antinomique and 9 Red Enigma. Perfect for those in the market for a red lipstick Marilyn Monroe herself would approve of - especially in the lead up to Valentine's Day.
If pink is more your thing, however, Charlotte Tilbury has just brought out a new range of rose-coloured lippies (as well as reds), Holly Beauty Icons, that are simply gorgeous. Our beauty team were lucky enough to try out a few shades - read what we thought of them here.
For reds, however, we love MAC Powder Kiss Liquid Lip Colour in Devoted to Chilli (£16.57), MUA Creamy Matte Lipstick in Razzleberry (£3.50) and Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Lip Blur in Walk of No Shame Blur (£22.95).
