Celebrity Big Brother 'signs Amir Khan’s wronged wife' as contestant
Amir Khan’s wronged wife Faryal Makhdoom is set to walk through the doors of Celebrity Big Brother next month as a new contestant.
The 32-year-old mum-of-two - who shares her children with 37-year-old boxer Amir - is said to be desperate to change the public’s perception of her after she forgave her husband of 11 years after he admitted to cheating on her. Show bosses are hoping she will bring drama to the house.
ITV revived Big Brother last year - with a ratings winning series airing in October. Following the success of the civilian version - which was hosted by AJ Odudu and Will Best and won by lawyer Jordan Sangha - network bosses confirmed they were bringing back the celebrity version of the show too.
Now reports are suggesting Faryal will be in the mix for the new show. A source told The Sun: “Faryal is a knockout signing for Celebrity Big Brother. She’s had her ups and downs with Amir but wants to step into the limelight in her own right. Faryal has said she wants to show the public she’s not a doormat he walks all over. She is fiery and feisty and will make a brilliant housemate.”
Last month it was revealed that Celebrity Big Brother will make its hotly anticipated return to screens in March. The stars taking part are tipped to be booked by mid-February at which point they will record VT that will play during the launch night of the show.
Corrie's Sue Cleaver says I'm A Celebrity stint helped her to push boundariesA string of celebs have been linked to the new series, with The Mirror revealing celebrity chef Levi Roots will be moving into the iconic house next month. A source said: "Levi will be great for the Celebrity Big Brother house. He's got a few exciting projects coming up and he's such a fun character. He's self-made and is an inspiration to a new generation."
It has also been reported that Rugby star James Haskell - who was involved in a shock split from wife Chloe Madeley last year - is being lined up for the show. A source told the Mirror: “James has brilliant potential as a housemate. He’s a great character and is incredibly likeable. He’s also single after splitting from Chloe, and he was really open about that in his meeting. Bosses think that openness would be fantastic for the show, and people would really warm to him. But he is also not afraid to call a spade a spade and will speak his mind, which was another characteristic that really appealed to the bookers.”
While other reports have suggested Kate Middleton’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith, will be taking part in the show. The IT recruitment boss is said to be incredibly loyal to the Prince and Princess of Wales - but could mouth off about Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, while inside the house.
