Getafe head coach Jose Bordalas has suggested Mason Greenwood should be more consistent despite the forward scoring during their 2-0 win over Granada on Monday.

The 22-year-old gave Getafe the lead midway through the first-half with a deflected effort, before Borja Mayoral doubled their advantage in the 36th minute. That was enough to secure the victory for Getafe, who sit 10th in La Liga after ending their run of back-to-back defeats.

Greenwood has shone since moving to Getafe on loan from Manchester United in the summer, netting six goals and grabbing four assists in 20 appearances so far. He has been linked with moves to Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, while Getafe are keen to make Greenwood's loan permanent.

Speaking after his side's victory over Granada, Bordalas was quick to mention that Greenwood must maintain his performances for the entire 90 minutes. "He is a great player but everyone has a job. We are very happy with the work from Greenwood, Borja, Maxi but without everyone’s work he cannot shine," Bordalas said.

"Greenwood had a great first half, although not so much in the second half. But everyone has worked for the team. They were aware of the importance of the game and finally we achieved it."

He added: "The truth is that we wanted to rediscover the victory, to repay the fans for the support and love they give us. Fortunately we have achieved it, we have had a great first half, we have gone out for the game, the goals arrived, the game was controlled.

"The second half we were good, we lacked the goal. Granada with an adverse result went for the game. We had the misfortune of a penalty against us. This is football, it's details."

Getafe currently sit seven points behind six-place Real Sociedad, who occupy the final European place. Despite their inconsistent form of late, Bordalas hasn't ruled out a late push for the Europa Conference League.

He said: "The truth is that we don't talk about it, everyone was there last season, they have had experiences where they suffered a lot. We try not to talk beyond the next match and seal the points that give us peace of mind and from there we will think about other objectives.

"The players think this way because they have suffered. We must not forget that in May the team had many chances to be in the Segunda Division. Now we have to enjoy the moment but without relaxing one bit."
