Cadbury Mini Eggs are an elite chocolate. If you disagree, you're wrong.

The hard candy shells and dense, chocolatey filling are what dreams are made of. But now, a 'game-changing' Easter egg spotted on supermarket shelves has taken things to the next level - and it's all shoppers can think about.

Yes, we're fully aware that it's technically still January (aka quite a while until Easter) but this box of deliciousness tastes just as great on a cold winter evening as it will on Resurrection Sunday - plus, imagine how good it would taste as a pancake topper. It truly is what Jesus would have wanted.

The Mini Eggs 'Inclusions' Easter Egg has been around for a while, but every year it returns to retailers - there's a frenzy. It features a large hollow chocolate egg that contains crushed up pieces of Mini Eggs. Naturally, it also comes with a bag of Mini Eggs.

"Seen somebody post about a Mini Eggs Easter egg with Mini Egg pieces in the Easter egg and it's all I can think about it," said one X (Twitter) user named Hannah. "It's January and I'm contemplating buying an Easter egg."

One user replied: "I've already eaten three eggs," while another said: "I haven't bought the egg yet but I have devoured like three packs of Mini Eggs." However, some shoppers weren't happy at the high price tag the treat comes with.

"Found the Mini Eggs Easter Egg! £12 though?!" one person fumed. Luckily, Cadbury does offer a smaller Mini Easter Egg that can be bought from supermarkets such as Tesco for just £1.50. The pieces are crumbled into the shell, but it does come with a small bag of Mini Eggs inside.

If you're confused why Easter Eggs are already popping up in supermarkets - one psychologist has shed a much-needed light. Psychotherapist Kamalyn Kaur told the Metro the move is a 'psychological trick' employed to encourage people to 'buy more'.

"Shops will often strategically introduce seasonal items well in advance of the actual holiday or event to create a sense of anticipation and excitement that can prompt early purchases," she added. "Seeing Easter eggs displayed now can serve as a visual or subconscious reminder of the event, which can encourage people to start planning their Easter celebrations well in advance."

It can also spark a sense of 'urgency' as shoppers worry supermarkets may run out of Easter Eggs if they don't buy them now. Some retailers will discount Easter Eggs early, further motivating shoppers to make a purchase in case the price hikes.
