Telecoms giant, BT, has announced it's set to recruit over 500 apprentices and graduates later this year.

They'll be hiring across different sectors including software engineering, customer service, applied research, data analytics and cyber-security. Set to start in September, these new apprentices will help boost the UK's rapidly growing digital sectors.

The roles will be located all across the UK including Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Darlington, Ipswich, Leeds, London, Manchester, Sheffield, and Warrington. Over the past five years, BT Group has become one of the country's largest private sector apprenticeship employers, recruiting over 3,000 apprentices and graduates.

Their apprenticeship programme ranges from level two (equivalent to GCSE standard) to level seven (a master's degree). Elaine Bergin, director of colleague experience at BT Group, said: "As one of the largest private sector employers of apprentices and graduates in the UK, we continue to recruit and attract brilliant people into our business and we offer unparalleled opportunities to those who join us."

She added: "As we build a better BT Group, we're developing a pipeline of future talent to help grow our business, deliver great outcomes for our customers and to help underpin economic growth in the UK."
