Shaughna Phillips' boyfriend missing out on baby's life is 'worse than prison'
Shaughna Phillips has opened up about how difficult it has been for her since welcoming her baby girl as her boyfriend and baby daddy remains in prison.
Former Love Island star Shaughna, 29, welcomed her first child Lucia in April 2023 and has been rearing her daughter alone ever since as her boyfriend, Billy Webb remains behind bars.
Shaughna, who shot to fame on the winter series of Love Island back in 2020, has revealed that she has been through some of the lowest moments in her life since becoming a single mother and says taking her baby to prison to see her father is not the life she wanted for Lucia.
Billy was sent to prison last year over drug charges and has missed out on seeing his daughter grow up. Shaughna has now confessed that she thinks missing out on milestones as a father is even more of a punishment than just being in prison for Billy.

Shaughna, who had no idea about Billy's illegal activity, was 30-weeks pregnant when she received the news that her boyfriend would be going to prison.

Since Billy was sentenced last year, Shaughna has ensured that her baby daughter has a relationship with her dad as she takes Lucia to visit in prison once a week - but it's not the life she saw for her little girl. “This is not something I expected to be doing. I never would have chosen this life for my daughter," she told OK! Magazine.
“It’s not a decision I made lightly and I won’t lie, the first time I took her was really scary and daunting. I don’t think it hit me what was happening until I got into the building. I was so nervous but it was never a question for me. I always knew I was going to take Lucia to visit her dad.
“Although it’s the last place on earth I’d hope to take a baby, I just felt like I owed it to her. Billy’s obviously missed out on a lot in her life due to his actions but I was never going to stand in the way of him being a dad. I never want Bill to be a stranger to her," Shaughna added.
The couple are believed to have started dating in 2020 – the year Shaughna appeared on Love Island. Lucia, who turns one this April, will be 16 months old when the businessman and property developer begins day release from prison.
