The final week of the transfer window is approaching and it appears that things are hotting up across the Premier League.

Outside of Tottenham's signings of Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin, there has been little in the way of incoming transfers to the teams competing at the top of the division. Tuesday saw some progress over a move for Kalvin Phillips to West Ham, while Newcastle's stars continue to be linked away from the club.

Liverpool have not made a signing but have been active in the loan market. Fabio Carvalho headles the moves after being recalled from RB Leipzig before heading immediately to Hull City. There certainly appears there could be more departures from Anfield to earn young talents some vital experience but perhaps some work could be done ahead of the summer too.

The Reds sit top of the Premier League table, and if the right deal emerges perhaps they will look to strengthen their hand before the month is out. Mirror Football rounds up the latest transfer rumours to arrive at Anfield.

Liverpool preparing 'huge offer'

Liverpool's interest in Atlanta's Teun Koopmeiners is said to continue with the Reds said to to be 'preparing a huge bid'. Tutto Atalanta suggest the Dutch international is a 'prime target' for Jurgen Klopp's side.

The Atlanta midfielder is reluctant to leave his club during the season but has drawn plenty of interest. The likes of Newcastle, Manchester United and Juventus have also been linked with the versatile 25-year-old.

Liverpool were said to be interested in Koopmeiners during the summer when they landed Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch to strengthen their midfield. The former Alkmaar ace is under contract in Italy until 2027 and can fulfil defensive role in the centre of the field.

Ronaldo on Kylian Mbappe's future

There's still plenty of uncertainty around Kylian Mbappe's Paris Saint-Germain future with Real Madrid thought to be the most likely destination amidst a possible Liverpool move. Los Blancos and Brazil legend Ronaldo belives the Bernabeu is where the Frenchman will take his next step.

He told RMC Sport: “Madrid always has the best players in the world… it’s a philosophy that has been maintained for many years and it’s no surprise that they continue to want the best footballers."

Ronaldo recently spent some time with Mbappe at an NBA match in Paris in January and stayed clear of confirming a move but was complimentary of his Spanish.

“I don’t know if he’s going to Real Madrid, but it’s true that he speaks almost perfect Spanish,” he added, “I don’t know what’s going to happen, but it’s a soap opera that’s already becoming very long.”

Loans out on the cards

The final week of January is set to see some movement at Anfield with the Reds being open in their intention. Pep Lijnders discussed the future of Calvin Ramsay and suggested he will not be the only player with the potential to depart.

Lijnders said: "Him and Nat [Phillips], good examples. There's interest – [which] is good. We have to find – with the agent, with himself, with the clubs – the right decision for the player. He needs to have game time, needs to play, have a lot of success.

"That's why I like the move of Fabio [Carvalho], for example. He plays a lot, is straight away decisive – together with Tyler [Morton]. Matt Newberry, our head of loans, he's full of business this winter. He needs a holiday after this for sure!

"These boys all have potential, otherwise they would not be with us. But they need as well the right pathway. What you said, a good loan can do wonders."
