Fans of Michael McIntyre's Big Show felt bamboozled after learning a secret about how the programme is filmed.

The variety and stand-up comedy series is presented by the popular comedian and features celebrity guests, musical performances, comedy sketches and much more. The most famous segment is the Send to All, which involves Michael taking a celebrity's phone and sending awkward texts to all their contacts. At the end of the show, he checks to see what replies have come through.

Another popular one, Midnight Gameshow, has him sneaking into celeb homes without them knowing to play a gameshow at midnight with the confused and groggy guests. It was recently revealed how the BBC programme is filmed and fans were shocked to find out episodes aren't filmed as standalone.

The segments aren't filmed for one specific episode each time. Instead, they're cut and edited to fit into episodes producers feel are the best fit.

Viewers were questioning why Saturday's episode of the beloved programme had changes to the running order. TV Zone's Twitter (now known as X) said: "Yet more changes to this weekend’s #BigShow episode. This weekend’s Send To All is with Joe Lycett, not Anne-Marie as billed."

Reposting TV Zone, TV fan account Super TV said: "Have just discovered that Michael McIntyre’s #BigShow isn’t ONE same show every weekend, but actually every single show is chopped up and edited together at seemingly random? Why would they do that?! Michael has to wear the exact same clothes every single time he films?"

One user complained about the 'over-editing' and said: "Everything is over-edited and overproduced nowadays. They just can't handle the unexpected," while one confirmed the shock editing news and posted: "Yep…when I went we had to sit through a re-recording of a star of the show from the week before due to it not being filmed correctly!"

"Not going to lie, I didn’t know this either and surely it would make more hassle when it comes to editing it? Although tbf there’s bound to be some sort of logical reason because I doubt they’d make things more difficult for themselves than necessary," one confused viewer commented.

Last week, fans were in hysterics when Bradley Walsh was surprised by the comedian while still in bed in a hotel room, covering up his topless body with a duvet. Bradley, who is hosting the BBC reboot of Gladiators alongside his son Barney, was forced to take part in Michael's Midnight Gameshow.
