Dana Carvey's son Dex's cause of death is toxicity from combination of drugs
Dana Carvey's son, Dex, died from toxicity from a lethal combination of drugs.
Dex's official cause of death has been revealed as toxicity from fentanyl ketamine and cocaine, according to the L.A. County Medical Examiner's Office via TMZ.
His death has been listed as accidental. Dex passed away on November 15, 2023. His girlfriend reportedly called 911 and first responders found him unresponsive in a bathroom.

Wayne's World star Dana Carvey's son dies aged 32 after 'accidental overdose'Dana revealed the heartbreaking news of his son's death at 32 due to an accidental overdose on Instagram on November 16. In a touching post, he wrote: "Last night we suffered a terrible tragedy. He further explained that Dex was "beloved" and shared details about his life.
Dana penned on social media: "Dex packed a lot into those 32 years. He was extremely talented at so many things - music, art, filmmaking, comedy - and pursued all of them passionately. It's not an exaggeration to say Dex loved life. And when you were with him, you loved life, too. He made everything fun. But most of all, he loved his family, his friends and his girlfriend, Kaylee. Dex was a beautiful person. His handmade birthday cards are a treasure. We will miss him forever."
Dana, who is best known for Wayne's World, also announced he would be taking a break from work after his son's passing.
Along with thanking fans for support, he announced he'd be focusing on "healing" on Instagram the following day. He wrote: ""I will be taking a break from work and social media - trying to figure out what life looks like now we are a family of 3. We will heal he best we can and carry on. Our darling Dex would have wanted it that way. Much love, Dana."
However, Dana has since returned to working, recently appearing on David Spade's podcast.
Dex, like his father, was a comedian. He starred in a number of projects alongside his father including The Funster and Beyond the Comics. He also opened for his father's special Straight White Male, 60, in 2016.
Dex is survived by his father Dana, mother Paula Swagerman and brother Thomas Carvey.
