Erik ten Hag is ready to try and convince Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting to join Manchester United on loan after Brian Brobbey ruled out a switch to the Red Devils.
Ten Hag is in the market for attacking reinforcements after overseeing United's worst start to a season in decades with £72million summer signing Rasmus Hojlund netting only twice in the Premier League since joining the club from Atalanta.
Brobbey, 21, is a player Ten Hag knows well from his time at Ajax and even tried to sign the striker last summer. However, the Dutchman could not lure him to Old Trafford - and Brobbey snubbed talk of a move to United again over the weekend.
When he was questioned on reports claiming Ten Hag had been in contact about a transfer, Brobbey said: "I am not in contact with Erik ten Hag anymore. We used to text through WhatsApp, but I think Erik is busy. I have a new number as well, so..."
With Brobbey snubbing United's overtures for a second time, it's been reported that Ten Hag will now attempt to push through a loan move for Choupo-Moting, who has fallen down the pecking order at Bayern Munich since Harry Kane's arrival.

The 34-year-old forward has scored twice in 16 appearances for the German champions so far this term and was also the subject of interest from United last January, although a move did not materialise.
Mirror Football outlined at the start of January that Choupo-Moting had been offered to Manchester United along with Timo Werner, who has since joined Tottenham on loan.

However, former United striker Mark Hughes - who brought Choupo-Moting to the Premier League during his time at Stoke - questioned the club's interest in the versatile forward before stressing he wasn't convinced Choupo-Moting would be a good signing.
Speaking to Sky Sports earlier this month, Hughes said: "I think it’s needs must at this moment in time. I had Choupo-Moting at Stoke, I brought him to the club. He’s a great guy around the place, has a nice personality, and can play clearly.
"He’s more of a player that would be a good back-up. Whether or not he can drive a team himself, I'm not quite sure. But in terms of bringing someone into the Premier League , he has that understanding, a bit like Timo Werner who has experience atChelseawhich is a real consideration. In terms of ability they tick the boxes but whether they can make a huge difference to United, I'm not too sure."
