Two strangers with the exact same name and oddly similar looks took a DNA test to find out if they're actually related - after years of being confused for one another.

Long Island Ducks American baseball pitcher Brady Feigl, 32, who lives in New York and the other Brady Feigl, 27, who plays for the Las Vegas Aviators, look nearly identical.

The pair both measure up at 6ft 4ins tall and have fiery red hair and glasses.

The doppelgängers were first mistaken for one another in 2015, when they both had the exact same elbow surgery performed by the same doctor Dr James Andrews.

The younger Feigl said at the time that he was probably six or seven months out of surgery when the clinic called his trainer and asked when he was reporting for surgery.

This led to his discovery of his lookalike.

“He was like, 'He had it six months ago. What are you talking about?'” Feigl explained.

“That’s how I found out there was two of us.”

The older Brady Gregory Feigl is 32, and was born in Missouri and played for Oakland Athletics Single-A baseball team.

Brady Matthew Feigl, his 27-year-old counterpart, was from Maryland.

He played for the Texas Rangers' Triple-A affiliate.

Back in 2017 the duo encountered another identify mix-up, when the University of Missouri's baseball team tagged the wrong Feigl on Twitter in a birthday tribute.

At this point, the younger Feigl had been signed for the team.

“Wrong Brady Feigl,” his identity twin responded. “Might be looking for @bfeigl39 …”

In spite of any suspicions, the pair were not separated at birth, with the DNA test showing no biological connection.

But the pair still felt bonded to each other, having said the were "still brothers in a way".

In 2020 the Mirror reported on another pair of doppelgangers, who despite a seven year age gap said even their families can't tell them apart.

Bianca Mihai, 18, a singer from Buzau, Romania, and Palestinian-Syrian model Lana Al Beik, 25, learned about each other online.

After making contact they decided to meet up in Dubai, where Lana lives, and were overwhelmed with emotion, according to reports.

"It really is something magical," Bianca said.

The singer travelled 3,400 kilometres (2,113 miles) to the UAE to meet her lookalike with the help of her photographer friend and the NGO ‘Freedom Station’, according to local media.
