Hugh Hefner had a set of strict rules for his wife Crystal Hefner regarding what she could and couldn't do with her body.

The former Playboy bachelor died back in 2017 aged 91. At the time he was married to Crystal, who was 60 years his junior. Hugh first proposed in 2010 after just one year of dating.

Their engagement ended in 2011 before they were set to wed and just after Playboy put Crystal on the cover, introducing her as Mrs Hefner. During their split, the model spent time with Dr. Phil’s son Jordan, but she ultimately went back to Hefner, marrying him in 2012.

She was 26 at time and the senior citizen was 86. They remained married until his death. Now, in her tell-all titled Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy And Finding Myself, Crystal has given fans an insight into her infamous relationship.

In the book, which is due for release on January 23 this year, she reveals how her husband "micro-managed" her appearance, telling her which nail colour to use, when to dye her roots and how to dress.

Crystal reportedly "could not have French manicures" and had to opt for "neutral colours" instead. She told People that belly piercings were also forbidden as the editor had branded them "trashy."

She was also made to wear clothing with the Playboy logo on it to help sell product, but admits that she found the clothes "uncomfortable" due to the "cheap" material. The natural brunette had to undergo a painful bleaching treatment to change her hair colour to bright blonde, as per Hugh's preference.

"I’d have to go bleach it and it would burn my scalp and I’d have blisters," she claimed. "But for some reason I thought this was all normal and that’s what it meant to be seen as beautiful in Hef’s eyes."

Crystal was given an "allowance" in the form of crisp dollar bills which she was encouraged to use on improving her appearance.
