Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been snubbed a few times since leaving the Royal Family.

Despite being uninvited and snubbed from events and by their friends, the couple are said to be facing their "make or break" year this year. They're reportedly keen to put the past 12 months behind them and focus on work commitments, including their $100million (£78,000) Netflix deal as they look to continue building their 'brand' stateside.

The couple faced a rollercoaster year in 2023, with Harry releasing his controversial memoir Spare, the couple being dropped by from their multi-million pound Spotify deal and Megan keen to restart her lifestyle blog The Tig. Yet 2024 is set to be a big year for them, with Megan reportedly putting everything into their plans and pushing Harry to "get his game face on" to make deals and work happen.

A source told Heat magazine: "This year is make or break for them, and Meghan's told Harry to step up. So far it's been her doing the lion's share of the networking, and she's stressed - largely because so many deals have fallen apart. She wants to take a step back and feels it's time for Harry to get his game face on."

The source added that the couple are 'fighting to keep their brand alive' and that they have "crazy high living expenses" they need to be earning enough to cover. Here, we've taken a look at some of the biggest snubs the couple has faced.

Emmy Awards

Meghan and Harry missed out on an Emmy Award at this year's ceremony after their Netflix documentary was snubbed last year. The duo didn't attend the glamorous bash in Hollywood last year or indeed again on Monday after failing to make the cut for nominees.

Despite the explosive series shooting to the top of the charts in 2023, with a huge 81.6billion hours watched the pair never received an accolade. The snub came as a shock to both them and fans everywhere as experts claimed they were "100% certain" they would after debuting one of the most talked-about shows of the year.

PR expert Lynn Carratt told us: "Meghan and Harry may feel slightly wounded by not receiving an Emmy Nomination, despite their Harry & Meghan docuseries becoming a record for the biggest debut for a Netflix documentary, reaching more than 28 million households, but they were up against some tough competition for nominations."

Queen's Christmas speech

The couple experienced a Christmas snub from the Royal Family, leaving them certain they needed to make their "own path". The couple spent the 2019 festive period in America with Meghan's mother Doria Ragland and they were allegedly left "furious" during the late Queen Elizabeth's Christmas broadcast.

As the monarch addressed viewers, family portraits were clearly visible on her desk. However, one was missing as there was no picture of Meghan and Harry with their then-newborn son Prince Archie.

In the book Finding Freedom, authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand claimed the Sussexes believed the Royal Family were "conspiring against them" with the move. They said the couple felt they had "long been sidelined by the institution and were not a fundamental part of its future".

"Noticeably absent was a photo of Harry, Meghan, and their new baby, Archie." The authors said palace sources insisted the photos were chosen to represent the "direct line of succession".

King Charles' speech

Meghan and Harry were then snubbed again as King Charles III delivered his second-ever Christmas speech to the nation. While he highlighted the good work of his eldest son Prince William and his wife the Princess of Wales, there was no mention of his youngest son and his wife.

The speech shown on BBC One showed Buckingham Palace in all its glory as a brass band played the national anthem from the balcony. Then a beautiful montage of photos and videos overlaid the King's words and showed him reflecting on his Coronation back in May and also touched on some of the charity work done by Prince William, The Princess of Wales, and their children in 2023.

Other working royals including Charles' sister Princess Anne, his brother Prince Edward, and his wife Sophie were also shown interacting with the public at official engagements over the year.

Royal wedding

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were reportedly excluded from the invitation list for what's set to be the "society wedding of the year" as the Duke of Westminster, Hugh Grosvenor will marry Olivia Henson at Chester Cathedral in June. King Charles, Queen Camilla and the Prince and Princess of Wales have made the list.

Hugh is a close friend of the royals and seems to have decided to avoid inviting the Sussexes "to avoid a family clash in the House of Windsor." It's also thought that Prince William is in the running to be the best man as Hugh is the godfather of his son, Prince George.

Hugh is also the godfather to Prince Archie, so the exclusion will come as a huge blow particularly to Harry, who was close to the Duke. A spokesman for Grosvenor told The Times: “We are not in a position to comment on the guest list.”

Neighbours snub

Harry and Meghan lost out to another celebrity couple in a poll on social media in which they were pitted against each other. The poll was shared on the platform X - formerly known as Twitter - by podcast host Rob Shuter, who fronts the Naughty But Nice podcast. The account tweets a "poll of the day," which typically centre on celebrities.

A recent example asked people to choose between Prince Harry, 39, and Meghan, 42, and Katy Perry, 39, and her partner Orlando Bloom, 46. It's previously been reported that the couples are neighbours in Montecito, California.

The tweet, which was posted on Tuesday, read: "POLL OF THE DAY: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and new BFF with Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom." It then asked on the platform: "Which couple would you rather be pals with?"

The majority of the polls responses voted for Katy and Orlando. According to the final results, 58.6 percent voted for the couple, compared to 41.4 percent who voted for Prince Harry and Meghan in the recent poll instead.
