Bruce Willis' daughter shares adorable throwback snap as dad is now 'non-verbal'

Bruce Willis' daughter Scout LaRue Willis has shared a sweet childhood photograph of herself with her dad as the actor continues his battle with dementia.

The 68-year-old actor's health diagnosis was revealed last year, with his family including wife Emma, five daughters and ex wife Demi Moore rallying around to support him.

Scout, Bruce's second daughter with ex wife Demi, shared the touching snap of her and her actor father to Instagram and with her 453,000 followers. Sharing the childhood throwback photo on Instagram Stories, she told her followers that she hasn't changed as she wrote: "I AM THE EXACT SAME".

The throwback snap comes after last year Bruce's family confirmed the star's health had deteriorated and he had been diagnosed with language disorder aphasia that had since progressed to a frontotemporal dementia diagnosis. The disease has a typical life expectancy of between six and eight years, but can be as low as two years in some cases.

The illness has taken hold of the award winning actor to the point that he is now considered to be non-verbal, with friend and writer Glenn Gordon Caron previously claiming that Bruce "now sees life through a screen door."

Whilst the actor is thought to recognise friends and family, Caron added: "He's not totally verbal; he used to be a voracious reader - he didn't want anyone to know that - and he's not reading now. All those language skills are no longer available to him, and yet he's still Bruce... you're grateful that he's there, but the joie de vivre is gone."

Last year a source close to the family claimed that the family had come together to spend as much time as possible with Bruce, with the source explaining to US Weekly: "Bruce has good days and bad days, but in the last two months, there are many more bad days than good. This experience has brought the whole family even closer together. No one knows how much time Bruce has left, so they're soaking up every moment they get with him. Bruce has around-the-clock care, but at least one family member is always with him."

A further source then confirmed that the whole family is so determined to be with Bruce as much as possible that they are pretty much living together. They said: "They’re all there all the time. Once Bruce was diagnosed, everyone came together to keep his memory of the family intact and to be there as a constant reminder they love him. Everything revolves around him."
