Gmail is finally rolling out a very useful upgrade that offers a faster and more efficient way of stopping endless emails clogging up your inbox. As spotted by the team at Android Police, a new unsubscribe button has started rolling out to some phone users which does exactly what it says on the tin.

Most of us have signed up for newsletters, deals or promotions that can soon clog up our inboxes. Finding a way to stop the barrage of messages can be tricky with emails often making it tough to find that all-important "unsubscribe" option.

Luckily, thanks to this update from Google, all the hard work is done for you. Simply open the message and you'll see the option to "Unsubscribe" at the top of the screen.

You then just tap this button and Gmail with either automatically stop any more messages coming through or push you directly to the sender's webpage where you can tell them you no longer want to receive correspondence from them.

It's a nice bonus but it seems not everyone has access just yet. Firstly, it doesn't appear to be coming to iPhone with owners of Android devices currently seeing the change.

It's also been reported that those with Pixel phones are top of the list to get the upgrade although it's thought more manufacturers will follow shortly.

This unsubscribe option isn't the only new feature that's been released on Android.

Many Android phone users - including those with Galaxy and Pixel devices - are suddenly seeing a new option to “Select all” when checking their inbox.

That might not sound particularly thrilling but selecting multiple emails at once rather than tapping on each one individually has been something users have been wanting for years. It basically means you can select all of the messages displayed on the screen (up to a maximum of 50) and delete or move them all with just one tap.

If your device has received the upgrade, you should now see the option to “Select all” at the top of your inbox.

If you don't see the ‘Select all', you should check and install the very latest Gmail Android app update available via Google's Play Store.
