A pensioner appeared to let loose at a woman and her son after they refused to offer her a seat on the bus.

Footage taken by a passenger showed a fiery row erupting on the bus in Barnet, North London following a disagreement over the priority seats.

Vinay Kumar Parbot, 31, who recorded the incident on his phone camera and , said he was boarding the bus on his way back home last Tuesday when he was greeted with the startling scene.

The elderly lady can be seen standing over the woman and her son, who is not shown in the video, as she questions their choice of seat towards the front of the bus.

Pointing her finger in the direction of the boy, she says: "It's not your seat! He shouldn't be there"

The clip then cuts to a later stage of the argument where the woman adds: "Some drivers will tell you, they'll make you go to the back of the bus because they say that they're priority seats."

But an unimpressed woman on the receiving end seems to object to her tone, telling her to "shut up" before remaking "Priority seats?" in disbelief.

The pensioner then interrupts her before she can say anything further, and causes to her to recoil by flailing her hands close to her face.

She adds: "If you were a nice lady you would have moved over for me and I would have said "thank you" whilst pointing at two empty seats on the other side of the bus."

But the mum refuses to back down, and exclaims "move me there!" in response to her request.

At this point in the exchange the OAP appears to have had enough, and requests that the driver lets her get off

The older woman then turns towards the front of the bus and says "get off here driver", before delivering a final rant telling her not to just "think of yourself".

The incident appeared to sharply divide opinion in the comments of the video, with some sympathising with the pensioner while others believed she was in the wrong.

A few people observed that there appeared to be an empty priority seat nearby, with one TikTok user writing: 'I'm all for giving up priority seats but like… there was an empty priority seat right next to it?'

Another commented: "That old lady is way too aggressive. Like there are seats next to her."
