Harry Kane can finally feel haus proud after moving into a stunning modern mansion high on a hillside.

Perched above the River Isar near Munich and shrouded in mist and snow yesterday, the £30million home rented by the 30-year-old England captain looked like a Bond villain’s lair. The £104m star, who earns £415,000 a week, has enjoyed a prolific start to his career with Bayern Munich, hitting 26 goals in 23 games, but has been living in a hotel suite since he joined in August.

He made the move with personal trainer wife Kate, 30, his childhood sweetheart, and their four children – five-month-old son Henry Edward, Ivy, six, Vivienne, five, and Louis, two. They now enjoy the run of a garden on the edge of a forest, with breathtaking views out over the river. And locals say the luxury mansion, with a sun deck and spa, is fit for a goal king like Harry.

Bizarrely, the property was once used in a German film comedy about a man who is made impotent by a ferret which attacks him. Harry is believed to be using an app to learn German, in which the word for chateau, place or manor house is schloss.

He is a firm favourite with Bayern fans, and returned to action against Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga last night after Germany’s winter break. He was given a huge boost this week when his former Spurs team-mate Eric Dier signed for the club.

Eric, 29, who is fluent in Portuguese, will be able to give Harry some tips on learning a new language. Bayern told fans: “Dier enjoys playing golf, including with his friend Harry Kane. He is nicknamed ‘Viking’ because of his athletic figure.”

With temperatures forecast to be -8C this week, Kane won’t be teeing off anytime soon. But he has already made a good impression with his neighbours. Renate Lindner, 82, said: “He is a very nice man with a lovely family. I have seen him in the street to say hello. I love football so I knew straight away who it was. He was very polite and I wanted to make him feel welcome here.”

When asked if they spoke English or German, she joked: “Don’t worry, we made ourselves understood.” The property is in an area known as the “Beverly Hills of Bavaria” where homes can cost £70,000 a month in rent. Harry looked at another £30m property nearby just before Christmas. But a neighbour there said: “He decided against it and opted to move to the other side of the river.”

His new home featured in 2014 German romantic comedy Vaterfreuden, or Joy of Fatherhood. It features a sperm donor who accidentally gets a vasectomy from a ferret, leading to him searching for the mother of his only child. The film stars German actor Matthias Schweighofer, who recently appeared in Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster Oppenheimer.

In one scene, Schweighofer is tied to a bed when he is attacked by a ferret that was living in his old apartment, and ends up in hospital where he receives the news that he’s been sterilised.

The property’s previous occupants include ex-Bayern stars Mehmet Scholl and Lucas Hernandez, who enjoyed parties there. But there has been little time to party for family man Harry. He moved in from a £3,436-a-night suite at the Mandarin Oriental hotel, close to the city’s famous Marienplatz.

He loved bacon for breakfast and sushi in the evening. He appeared in lederhosen promoting club sponsor Paulaner’s beer, but a hotel barman said: “We never saw him in here.”

Hotel manager Dominik Reiner said: “He was definitely one of the most popular guests we’ve ever had with us.” Kane posted just before Christmas: “A massive thank you to the hotel staff who have made me feel at home. It’s been a huge part of being able to settle in so well. Was worried my room was getting too small so time to check out and into a place with my family.”

Harry has also just starred in an Amazon advert joking about his empty trophy cabinet. But his impressive start for the Bavarian giants means that is likely to change soon.

He remains in regular contact with dad Pat, agent brother Charlie and England boss Gareth Southgate, and is able to see Germany’s best players week in, week out before this summer’s European Championships.

Spurs received an initial £86m for Harry plus add-ons taking the total fee to £104m, the German champions’ most expensive signing.

Scoring goals is nothing new for him. He netted 280 goals in 435 games for Spurs and passed Wayne Rooney’s England record, by scoring 62 goals in 89 appearances.
