Blackburn Rovers immediately ridiculed Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney upon drawing Wrexham in the FA Cup fourth round.

Back in November 2020, Deadpool star Reynolds joined forces with McElhenney - famed for creating and starring in ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ - to purchase Wrexham AFC amid plenty of fanfare. The duo have helped elevate the local community via popular Disney+ documentary ‘Welcome to Wrexham,’ which has helped to raise the Dragons’ profile in the United States.

Earlier this season, viewers were left stunned during the series two of the show as a rogue map was displayed. The map was supposed to highlight where certain teams are based in the United Kingdom, but fans questioned what was being displayed.

The map in question had clubs scattered far from their real locations, with Premier League club Brentford shown to be in the North East rather than west London. Blackburn, Newcastle, Everton and Cardiff were also wildly placed - and Rovers have immediately turned to the map to ridicule Wrexham ahead of their FA Cup meeting. Following the draw, Blackburn took to social media to share the inaccurate map, along with the caption: “See you soon, @Wrexham_AFC. Let us know if you need directions?”

Wrexham secured their place in fourth round by defeating League One outfit Shrewsbury Town in Sunday's cross-border derby at The Croud Meadow. Tom O'Connor scored the only goal in the victory to send the Dragons to the fourth round for a second season in a row.

Meanwhile, Blackburn, currently 17th in the Championship, crushed Cambridge United 5-2 in their third round tie. Jon Dahl Tomasson's side won courtesy of Sam Szmodics' hat-trick alongside second-half strikes from Arnor Sigurdsson and Harry Leonard.

The fourth round will be the first competitive meeting between the sides since the 1981/82 campaign. Competing in the old second division, a goalless draw at Ewood Park came before Wrexham clinched a 1-0 win at The Racecourse with Dennis Leman the' scorer.

All fourth-round ties are scheduled to be played over the weekend of Friday 26th January to Monday 29th January, with a confirmed date and time to be revealed shortly. Those who advance to the fifth round will land £120,000 from the competition prize fund.
