Tributes have poured in after Indiana Jones actor Christian Oliver and his two children were killed in a plane crash, leaving behind his ex-wife Jessica Muroz.

The mother of Madita, 10, and Annik, 12, has not only lost her two young daughters, but her ex-husband too. The family, as well as pilot Robert Sachs, died on Thursday after the aircraft crashed into waters off Bequia, which is part of St Vincent.

Not a lot is known about Jessica and she hasn't yet made a public statement about the loss of her children and 51-year-old ex-husband, whose real name is Christian Klepser. The are thought to be separated, with online records suggesting the actor, who starred in hits such as Speed Racer and Valkyrie, had filed for divorce in December 2021.

The family's death was caught on camera. According to authorities, the plane took off from F Mitchell Airport and was headed to nearby St Lucia when tragedy struck. In a video, an eyewitness is heard saying "the plane crashed - call the Coast Guard."

"Moments after taking off, the aircraft experienced difficulties and plummeted into the ocean," the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force said in a statement. "Fishermen and divers from Paget Farm went to the scene of the incident in their boats to render assistance," it added. All four bodies have been recovered.

Pilot Robert Sachs owned the plane but it is unclear what caused the devastating crash, according to police. The cause remains under investigation. Local reports said pilot Sachs radioed the tower shortly after takeoff to tell them he was experiencing trouble and was turning back. However, that was the last communication.

His eerie final Instagram post showed off a gorgeous scenic sunset on the beach. With gorgeous mountains in the background and some onlookers admiring the coast, Christian's final post left a serene feeling before the ultimate disaster that followed. He wrote across the image: "Let love rule. Wishing you all the best for 2024." In the caption, he again made a nod to the Grenadines beautiful atmosphere. He added: "Greetings from somewhere in paradise! To community and love …2024 her we come!"

Before his production work, Christian appeared in Amazon's Hunters alongside Al Pacino and under Jordan Peele's production. "There comes a time where we all must choose between the light and the darkness. Welcome to the hunt," explains a movie summary on Christian's website. It follows Nazi Hunters in 1977 New York City as they discover the insidious plots of Nazis who are living unknown in America.
