Tributes are pouring in for a "lovely and kind" hillwalker who fell to his death while hiking with his pet dog.

Police believe Kyle Sambrook, 33, was carrying his beloved Beagle Bane when tragedy struck.

The pair had been wild camping in the Scottish Highlands and disappeared on February 18.

A desperate search was launched when they failed to return home to Featherstone, West Yorkshire, on Tuesday.

Kyle and Bane were last seen in the Lost Valley area of Glencoe in North West Scotland.

Their bodies were recovered by mountain rescue teams and the Coastguard on Saturday afternoon.

They were found in a gully about 2,625 ft up on the 3632 ft high Stob Coire nam Beith.

Brian Bathurst, deputy team leader of Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team, said it was possible the landscape gardener was carrying his dog when he fell almost 100ft in “appalling weather”.
