Manchester United have confirmed extensions have been triggered in the contracts of first-team trio Hannibal Mejbri, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Victor Lindelof.

All three had been due to be out of contract at the end of the current season but have seen their deals extended. United boss Erik ten Hag also confirmed talks are ongoing with Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial over the French pair's futures.

"We are talking with Rapha Varane and with Anthony Martial," Ten Hag told reporters on Thursday. "And we have triggered the options on Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof and Hannibal.

On the subject of Varane and Martial, Ten Hag said. "I think that is an internal discussion between the club and the player." Varane, one of the highest earners in the United squad, had been linked with a return to former club Real Madrid.

Lindelof and Wan-Bissaka have both featured sporadically this season during an injury crisis for United. Sweden international Lindelof was the subject of interest from Serie A last year but has slotted in at both full-back and central defence with the likes of Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw missing games through injury.

Academy graduate Hannibal, meanwhile, scored his first United goal earlier this season in a defeat to Brighton. He had been linked with a loan move away from Old Trafford only for Ten Hag to stand in the way of a switch with fellow midfielders Casemiro and Mason Mount still sidelined.

Ten Hag was also asked about the future of Jadon Sancho during his press conference, but was unable to shed too much light on the winger's future. Sancho, who hasn't featured since August, has been linked with a return to former club Borussia Dortmund.

"I can't say anything about that," Ten Hag said. "We have to wait and see how things are going. When we have news, we will tell you. I can't say anything about this subject because there is no news."

Ten Hag also addressed Andre Onana's availability, with the goalkeeper extending his stay in Europe before linking up with his Cameroon team-mates for the Africa Cup of Nations. "So we're talking with the Cameroon federation," the United boss explained.

"It was an issue during the talks with Andre when he came in here. It's constructive. We will see. I don't know yet (if he will play against Tottenham) but he will be here for the game against Wigan."

United face Wigan in the FA Cup on Monday, with the Spurs match scheduled for January 14. Cameroon's AFCON campaign begins against Guinea one day after Spurs come to Old Trafford.
