Chloe Madeley's ex-husband James Haskell is 'nervous to move on' after split

Chloe Madeley has confessed that she's she's not quite ready to jump back into dating following her split from James Haskell - and the rugby star is even more apprehensive about getting back out there.

The couple, who are parents to daughter Bodhi, 16 months, announced in October that they had “mutually decided to separate” after almost 10 years together, and five years of marriage. However, since the split, fans have been left confused over their relationship status, with many speculating Chloe and former rugby player James had reunited.

Despite speculation from fans that they may have rekindle their romance, Chloe, 36, has now insisted that it feels 'awful' when others assume that her and James are on and off again. After their shock split, the mum-of-one has admitted that she's never felt stronger and is lapping up her new life, but she's not ready yet to go in search for love again.

"I think when people hear the word single, they automatically think of dating. For me, when I hear the word single, all I hear is that it's me, I'm on my own and I'm free," she told OK! Magazine. "I have no interest in dating anyone. I feel no need to bring somebody new into the mix." The daughter of Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan hinted that her ex-husband, James, also feels the same way about moving on. "I think he's more nervous about it than I am," she added.

Concerning James moving on with someone else, Chloe said: "I don't know how I'll feel about it [when he moves on]. It's not something you can control and it's not something you can predict. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it."

For now, the former couple has found a routine that works for them. They've arranged to co-parent their one-year-old daughter, Bodhi. Chloe emphasised that providing Bodhi a strong family structure and maintaining normalcy is crucial, which is why she and James share parenting responsibilities.

"The same thing that made me love James from the beginning all the way to now has always been his tenacity. That's going to work massively in our favour now that we're co-parents," she said. We're not going anywhere. I think everyone can see on social media we're not messing around. We're going to be the best parents we can be to Bodhi. James is an incredible dad and she adores him and I like to think I'm a pretty good mum. We want her to have a strong bond to both of us, but also her family unit. We spend so much time together."

Chloe and James are currently sharing their London home, but it's not a long-term arrangement. The pair announced their split a month later, saying it was mutual and they would continue to co-parent with "nothing but love". The dedicated mum-of-one is now focusing on maintaining a positive outlook. Chloe confessed that separating from James was the best decision for their family.
