Viewers of ITV's The Masked Singer UK think they know who Bigfoot is after the first episode.

The show returned on Saturday night, with panellists Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan trying to work out the identity of six new characters, with the help of guest Charlie Simpson. Confirmed for the latest lineup were Cricket, Weather, Marypole, Bigfoot, Egg and Rat.

Also taking part are Air Fryer, Bubble Tea, Owl, Piranha, Eiffel Tower, Chicken Caesar. Bigfoot took on Dippy Egg in the first episode of the series in a bid to go through to the next episode.

Bigfoot, like their co-stars, dropped a series of clues about their mystery true identity before performing. Clues included mentions of nature, camping and the woods, as well as the person being clumsy and always putting their foot in it - while the panel thought it could be a comedian.

Viewers were quick to guess who it was under the mask though, believing they had it all sussed. Taking to X, viewers shared the theory that Bigfoot was none other than The Last Leg star Alex Brooker.

One viewer commented: "Big foot is Alex Brooker?" as another said: "Sounds like Alex from the Last Leg!! I hope it is, he's great." A third added: "Alex Brooker," while a fourth said: "Is Bigfoot Alex Brooker? He mentioned “Hills” and theres a broken foot and it definitely sounds like him…"

Host Joel Dommett couldn’t wait for the show to start and previously said: "Honestly, they are the best costumes ever. If they don’t make you smile, well, get out! Air Fryer is unbelievably silly. It's so liberating to be a part of a show where first of all, people really enjoy it and also from my point of view, any idea I have, it's fair game. Even when it comes to the suits!

"I think we've definitely got some of the best vocalists we've ever had on the show and we've had some really incredible ones in the past. The show goes through an interesting meandering of, we are all here for all the new characters, but then maybe the better singers start to get through in the last rounds, usually the final. Let's be honest, it’s usually really incredible singers left at that point. This year I really do feel like we've got some of the best we've ever had."

Talking about the costumes, Jonathan Ross said: "I love all of them. I really loved Weather. I thought that was a really beautiful, quite romantic, quite poetic looking costume. I liked Piranha a lot. They're fun, I have to say. Bubble Tea is great. Well, Bubble Tea and Air Fryer make the show very, very modern, don't they? There's a couple of phrases that weren't in common conversation two or three years ago, and now we've got them dancing on primetime ITV1!"
