Star-studded XI of players who could move in the January transfer window
The January transfer window opens on Monday and a number of clubs could be in for a very busy month of deals as they look to strengthen their squads mid-season.
The likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle are among the Premier League teams who may could be active in the transfer market, while the Saudi Pro League spent big on top European stars over the summer and could make waves once again in January.
And Mirror Football has taken a look at 11 players who could be on the move in January, including current free agents, established veterans and rising stars...
David de Gea
The 33-year-old has been without a club since his departure from Manchester United in July, but could be back in action in January. Newcastle have been linked with a swoop for De Gea after Nick Pope suffered a shoulder injury, while clubs from La Liga and the MLS are also said to be interested in his services.
Jean-Clair Todibo
Heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent months, Tottenham have also been credited with an interest in Todibo. However, United's interest in the former Barcelona defender could be boosted by Sir Jim Ratcliffe's purchase of a 25 per cent stake in the club given he also owns Todibo's current club Nice.
Man Utd deadline day live updates as Sabitzer completes loan moveEric Dier
Having struggled for game time under Ange Postecoglou this season, Dier's time at Tottenham could come to an end in January. Jose Mourinho's Roma and Turkish side Fenerbache are said to be interested in his services.
Raphael Varane
Both Bayern Munich and former club Real Madrid have been linked with a move for Varane following his lack of minutes this season. There have been rumours of a falling out with manager Erik ten Hag and it appears the Frenchman's future lies away from Old Trafford.
Kalvin Phillips
Widely expected to leave Manchester City in January having barely featured since joining the club from Leeds for £43million 18 months ago, Juventus, Newcastle and Crystal Palace are among the clubs looking to sign Phillips.
Conor Gallagher
Despite being ever present for Chelsea this season, the Blues are said to be open to selling Gallagher in January. The midfielder's current contract is due to expire in 18 months and Tottenham have been mooted as a potential destination.
Jesse Lingard
Currently a free agent following his departure from Nottingham Forest, Lingard has spent time training with West Ham and Saudi club Al-Ettifaq this season. Although those moves ultimately failed to materialise, Lingard could be back in action in January with clubs from France and Saudi Arabia interested.
Jadon Sancho
Having been banished from United's first-team squad after a public bust-up with Ten Hag, Sancho could be on the move in January. A return to Borussia Dortmund has been mooted, while RB Leipzig and Juventus are also said to be interested.
Ivan Toney
A host of Premier League clubs including Arsenal and Chelsea are looking to sign Toney when he returns from his eight-month ban for breaching FA betting rules in January. Strikers are always in huge demand and Toney is a proven goalscorer at the top level, having netted 20 goals in 33 league games last season.
Serhou Guirassy
Having scored 17 goals in just 14 Bundesliga games for Stuttgart, Guirassy has attracted interest from the likes of United and Newcastle. He has a €17.5m (£15.2m) release clause and looks certain to move in January given that will rise to €20m (£17.3m) next summer.
Anthony Martial
With his contract set to expire at the end of the current campaign, Martial has been linked with a January exit. Inter Milan are said to be interested in signing the Frenchman, who has scored just one league goal in 13 games so far this season.
