Helen Flanagan mum-shamed by cruel trolls after Christmas away from kids
I'm A Celebrity star and Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan has been hit with cruel comments by mum shamers and trolls after she shared an honest update with fans online.
The mum of three opened up about how she found it 'weird' without having the kids around. Writing on Instagram, she explained: "Wasn’t really feeling Christmas this year, felt weird without the kids but next year I’ll be festive." She also added that she's exploring ways to cope with her Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).
Helen, who shot to fame as Rosie Webster in the long-running ITV soap, shares three children – Matilda, eight, Delilah, five, and two-year-old Charlie – with footballer ex Scott Sinclair.
However her honest confession was attacked by mum shaming comments as some people accused the former soap actress of enjoying her lifestyle and being single more than spending time with her children.
One troll comment read: "Think she enjoys her high life MORE than having the kids IMO." Another added: "Reeal mom doesn't need to dresss like that." Another suggested: "I’m no expert by any means but perhaps it’s best to keep a low profile for a while and stay off social media and out of the media spotlight? There’s a lot to be said about a quiet life".
TOWIE's Chloe Brockett makes cheeky dig at Saffron Lempriere during filmingHowever, Helen's fans weren't about to let the troll comments go without a fight as they jumped in to defend her. One commented: "She's entitled to a break leave the lass alone man." Another said: "You are so open being without your kids is undeniable the worse for you hope you are ok such a up front and truthful person some comments on here are awful." A third added: "Ignore those people. You are doing an amazing job as a mum. People just hate to put people down".
The comments come after Helen spent Christmas away from her three children, as she told Closer magazine: "My children are very close to Scott’s mum – we got on very well – and they live in Bath and I live in Bolton. My children really miss their daddy and they’re very close to their nanna so they’re going to spend Christmas with them. I won’t have them for about four days. It will actually be the first Christmas that I don’t have the children."
Opening up on co-parenting with ex Scott, Helen shared: "I think it’s good to have challenges and with co-parenting, you have to be fair. And it’s not about you, it’s about the children what makes them happy." The mum added: "I’m going to take all three of my kids, and my friends, to Bali for New Year."
Scott and Helen first got together when she was 19 years old but made the difficult decision to part ways in July last year after almost 15 years. They continue to co-parent their three children, but have admitted it has its 'ups and downs'.
