The neighbour of Lionel Messi’s house surged $25 million (£20m) in value following the Argentine’s move to Inter Miami.

Since arriving in America, Messi took over as club captain and scored 11 goals in 14 matches - including a stunning strike in the Leagues Cup final against Nashville SC as Inter Miami secured its first piece of silverware in club history. His deific reputation means fans and players alike have fawned over the Argentine since his arrival.

His impact has been just as profound off the field. According to entrepreneur and podcaster Patrick Bet-David, the price of his Fort Lauderdale mansion became worth a stunning $25 million more after Messi moved in next door.

Back in June, Messi’s stunning transfer to MLS was confirmed as the World Cup champion chose Florida over a potentially more lucrative deal in Saudi Arabia. He agreed a two-year deal worth at least $50 million (£39m) annually with David Beckham ’s club.

After spending his first few months living in his beachside apartment worth $9 million (£7m), Messi and wife Antonella purchased a huge new mansion back in September. The lavish 10,500 square-foot property cost $10.75m (£8.5m).

The mammoth estate boasts 10 bedrooms, a spa room, two boat docks and a swimming pool. It is situated within the gated community at Bay Colony, one of the neighbourhoods north of Fort Lauderdale.

One of his neighbours is Bet-David, an American entrepreneur, author and financial adviser. He outlined how the local area is already reaping the rewards of Messi arriving nearby, with the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner’s mere presence boosting property prices immensely.

“So far right now, according to today's climate, I've already made $25m of equity on the house I own,” Bet-David told VladTV . “Messi just moved right next to my house. Everybody wants to be in our community.

“It's a gated community on an island with only one way to go, very safe, very protected. God willing it still is. Now that Messi is there everybody is fricking coming on their boats to look at the houses. We're doing okay.”

Messi’s breathtaking abode is just a 15-minute drive from Miami’s DRV PNK Stadium and training facility. The house also features nine bathrooms, an Italian kitchen, a fitness and spa room, a VIP suite and a balcony with epic views of the city’s skyline.

Messi’s Miami teammate Sergio Busquets is also nearby, with the Spanish midfielder recenltly paying approximately $9m (£7m) for a home in Sea Rance Lakes. The new house is just one of the properties Messi has purchased in the region.

Along with his luxury Miami apartment, Messi owns two other condos in Sunny Isles Beach. Back in 2019, he reportedly bought a Miami apartment in the 60-floor Porsche Design Tower just 25 minutes away from the Inter Miami’s stadium.
