Man Utd's next gem?

For all the talk of possible ins and outs at Man Utd, they may have yet found themselves a gem. Time will tell but Erik ten Hag has handed a shock first-team debut to Willy Kambwala for their Premier League clash at West Ham.

The 19-year-old has gone straight into the starting line-up for the trip to London. He will be alongside Jonny Evans in the centre of defence, with a 16-year age-gap between the two players.

Kambwala, who captained France at under-16 level, has been at the club for just over three years, after United beat Liverpool in the race to sign him from Sochaux. He's since come through the under-18 and under-21 ranks at the club, but is yet to appear in the Premier League.

Varane open to exit

Raphael Varane would accept a return to Real Madrid next month if they could negotiate his Manchester United exit, according to reports.

The Frenchman made the move from the Spanish giants to Old Trafford back in 2021 and has, up until recently, been a regular. His minutes have been limited this term and he's open to heading back to Los Blancos and would be prepared to take a wage cut, claims AS.

Carlo Ancelotti would welcome Varane back should a deal be struck. The Italian is currently trying to deal without injured pair David Alaba and Eder Militao. Ancelotti would welcome him back 'very favourably' although the move has not yet been discussed at the Bernabeu.

Bailly eyeing Villarreal reunion

Eric Bailly could head back to Spain and rejoin Villarreal, whom he played for before moving to Manchester in 2016.

The Sun reports that he's endured a difficult time at Besiktas and could move on.

Sesko open to Prem switch

RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko is open to moving to the Premier League next month, according to reports.

The forward, who was on Man Utd's radar under Erik ten Hag, has struggled for minutes with the Bundesliga outfit and 90min report he is open to a move.

Man Utd's Antony valuation

Man United flop Antony cost them £85m in the summer 2022, but their scouts had initially valued him at £25m.

The former Ajax has scored just eight goals in 62 appearances for United since joining and is yet to come up with a goal or an assist this season.

Blues eyeing £156m double transfer

Chelsea have spoken to Sporting Lisbon about signing Ousmane Diomande and Viktor Gyokeres in a £156million double swoop.

Mauricio Pochettino wants to add to his squad in the New Year despite spending huge sums in the summer. The Blues are languishing in midtable and their performances highlight the need for further recruitment with a host of their signings not delivering.

The club have turned their attention to the table topping Portuguese outfit, who have already made their stance clear on the sums they expect to receive. Gyokeres was playing in the Championship with Coventry last year and moved to Lisbon for £17m back in the summer - now Sporting want his £87m release clause met if they are to lose him.

Klopp told to "bring the money" for Bowen

Jurgen Klopp has been told to "bring the money" if he wants West Ham's Jarrod Bowen after talking him up in midweek.

The Hammers star headed to Anfield for a last eight clash in the Carabao Cup, only to see the Reds run riot in a 5-1 success. Bowen was the man to score a classy consolation for West Ham, providing a moment of magic as he often does for the London outfit.

Klopp declared that he was his "favourite player" outside of his Liverpool squad with Michail Antonio claiming he was laying the ground work for a potential move. Bowen's future was recently secured when he penned a seven-year deal at the London Stadium and the Reds would have to pay top dollar if they want the winger.

The West Ham star said on the Footballer’s Football Podcast : “ Jurgen Klopp said before the game that Jarrod Bowen is his favourite player in the league other than his own players. I think he’s trying to lay those seeds man, he wants Jarrod."

Arsenal's business set to be hampered by Prem rules

Arsenal spent on new signings last January, but any hope of a repeat could hinge on the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules. That's according to The Athletic, who recognise the decision to make the David Raya signing an initial loan points to how tight things are financially.

The same publication suggests Aaron Ramsdale may be the "most obvious" contender to be sold as he looks to make sure of a Euro 2024 place with England. In terms of incomings, up front looks like the position most in need of investment but no big-money moves are anticipated.

Klopp pours water on Kelleher exit

Jurgen Klopp has ruled out a January exit for second-choice goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher and revealed the club are "really happy" with the Republic of Ireland stopper.

The 25-year-old made his 10th appearance of the season for the Reds in their 5-1 win over West Ham in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday but has been linked with a move away from Anfield in the winter transfer window. However, ahead of Liverpool's game against Arsenal, Klopp has shut down rumours of an exit for Kelleher.

Reds eye PSV star

Liverpool have PSV winger Johan Bakayoko on their list of transfer targets ahead of the January window.

That's according to ESPN, who suggest a move for Bakayoko could be one to watch considering Mohamed Salah is set for a month-long absence at the Africa Cup of Nations. Salah's absence would be dependent on how far Egypt get at the tournament, which is scheduled to get underway in mid-January.

Donny close to ending nightmare

United outcast Donny van de Beek is closing in on a move to Eintracht Frankfurt. The midfielder has no place in Ten Hag's plans at Old Trafford, making just two appearances in all competitions.

With that in mind, he has been given permission to join Frankfurt and underwent a medical with the Bundesliga side earlier this week. A completion of the deal appears to be close, with Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche now revealing his confidence.

He said: “I am very confident that Donny will be with us for the next six months. We still need quality, also across the board. We need experience, we are a very young team. Donny can certainly help us with that.”

Lokonga could return to Arsenal

Luton could be about to cut short Albert Sambi Lokonga's loan, according to TeamTalk. Belgian midfielder Lokonga joined on a season-long deal from Arsenal but has barely featured for Rob Edwards' side.

Lokonga started against Fulham and Wolves in September, but then suffered an injury which has kept him on the sidelines. He returned to action this month, coming off the bench in a defeat to Manchester City.

Ratcliffe eyes Nice raid

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is prepared to sanction Jean-Clair Todibo's move from Nice to Tottenham, despite interest from United in the defender. Ratcliffe, who owns Nice through his company INEOS, is set to buy a 25 percent stake in the Red Devils.

United have been eyeing up a move for Todibo, with boss Erik ten Hag keen to boost his options at centre-back. The Dutchman could be dealt a blow to his plans by his incoming boss though.

According to the Evening Standard, Ratcliffe will not stand in the way of Todibo joining Spurs. Tottenham are set to make a move for the 23-year-old next month, which looks set to be completed.

Klopp's Kelleher claim

Jurgen Klopp has ruled out a January exit for second-choice goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher and revealed the club are "really happy" with the Republic of Ireland stopper.

The 25-year-old made his 10th appearance of the season for the Reds in their 5-1 win over West Ham in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday but has been linked with a move away from Anfield in the winter transfer window. However, ahead of Liverpool's game against Arsenal, Klopp has shut down rumours of an exit for Kelleher.

"That is the next thing, we all want Caoimhin to make the next step," Klopp told the Liverpool Echo. "Some of us have heard rumours and stuff like that, like so we have to let him go and stuff like that. We just can't

"We need a solution for us and we are really happy with Caoimhin. But he performs for us on incredibly high levels. He is an exceptional goalkeeper. Yeah, he conceded a few goals where he could have saved if he has more rhythm or he is a bit more lucky."

Antonio on Klopp's Bowen claim

Michail Antonio has admitted Jurgen Klopp can "bring the money" if he wants to sign Jarrod Bowen.

It comes after Klopp praised the attacker before Liverpool's Carabao Cup quarter-final 5-1 win over West Ham, with Bowen finding the scoresheet in his side's heavy defeat.

"Jurgen Klopp said before the game that Jarrod Bowen is his favourite player in the league other than his own players. I think he’s trying to lay those seeds man, he wants Jarrod," Antonio told the Footballer's Football Podcast.

"He can lay the seeds all he likes mate. The man has just signed a seven year deal bro, if he wants that, he can bring the money," Antonio added.

"Who's he going to replace, obviously he plays on the right? Are you hinting at something here? Are you letting Salah go yeah?" he finished.

Wayne Rooney is eyeing up a reunion with Liverpool forward Kaide Gordon, according to TEAMtalk.

Birmingham boss Rooney worked with Gordon during his time at Derby and is looking to bring the striker to the West Midlands on loan. Gordon has not featured for the Liverpool first team since early 2022 due to injury.

Marcal signs new Leicester contract

Leicester winger Wanya Marcal has signed a new long-term contract until the summer of 2026.

The 21-year-old, who made his full Foxes debut against Huddersfield in August, scored his maiden goal in a 2-1 victory over Cardiff later that month.

"I'm feeling delighted," Marcal told the club's website. "I'm happy to get it through and continue with the Club for the future. It still feels a little bit surreal to me. In the space of about seven years, I was able to come from the Academy, get a scholarship and become pro.

"I look back and I wouldn't change any of it. I’ve loved every second. Obviously, that's all I've been working towards since I came into the Academy, to get into the first team and be given the opportunity to play."

Dele Alli talks ongoing

Everton remain stuck in talks with Tottenham over a future plan for Dele Alli’s career.

Back in November, Sean Dyche revealed that ‘background talks’ with Alli's former club had begun over his future, after the midfielder had begun a long process of rehabilitation following a serious injury setback last summer.

There is no prospect of Spurs taking Alli back on a permanent deal, but the two clubs are expected to help him a solution to help him resurrect his career.
