Furious man vows to 'never do Secret Santa again' after snub from colleague
Secret Santa is a fun tradition many people take part in with friends and colleagues over Christmas, but one man was left furious with the gift he received from a colleague and vowed to never do it again.
The excitement of unwrapping a mystery gift with your name on it is electric. Usually, if you're taking part with your colleauges, you might get a gag gift or something cheeky as there's often a budget restriction in place.
But one man wasn't happy when he opened his offering and vowed to never take part again after going above and beyond with his gift. He thinks the effort simply wasn't reciprocated.
Taking to TikTok to fume about his disappointing pressie, the man, who goes by the name @star_hollywood, revealed his gift in the viral video. "I will not be participating in 'Secret Santa' anymore in any job or workplace ever again," he vowed, and added: "Last Friday, everybody was supposed to bring their gifts. I went all out my way, I put Christmas lights on the bag, Santa paper, I had all kinds of stocking stuff down in the bag. I put bells on the gift bag. The lady that I got, I went over and beyond.
As he got in the Christmas spirit and ready for the gift exchange at work, he explained: "I'm all festive, I've got my Christmas ugly sweater on - or whatever you call them. I get to work, and everybody's putting their bags down on the shelf. A couple of hours go by, they call everybody up. I'm excited. You know, it's Christmas time, some people don't even get a gift, and 'Secret Santa' sometimes, that person, they may just get that one gift. So, I make sure I always go above and beyond.

"So, long story short, everybody's getting their gifts - everybody's exchanging gifts. The lady comes over to me and she says, 'Your 'Secret Santa' didn't come to work today, but come Monday and I'll have your gift'. Alright, cool, no big deal. I get to work today, I get my gift, ya'll. She hands me my gift, I open it up, and this is what I get."
He then showed his gift, which was in a blue box with a bow. He opened it to reveal mini chocolate bars inside. As he explained the budget was $25 (£19), and clearly showed his disappointment of mini Hershey's bars and Reese's pieces peanut butter trees.
"Now, I know Reese's and Hershey's and Mr Good bars can be kind of on the expensive side, but I said, 'maybe she spent a little bit of money on the bow and the box', because the box is kind of fancy like."
Other TikTokers then shared their Secret Santa ordeals, as one TikToker said: "Someone in our office got a 10-pound bag of rice from their Secret Santa," while another shared: "Last year one of my coworkers got our boss for Secret Santa and she gifted her a box of peanuts and everyone knew our boss was allergic to peanuts."
