Dynamo played a one-off show where he shocked fans with his terrifying act that saw him being buried alive in a 6ft grave.

The 40-year-old magician, real name Steven Frayne, performed a live show called Dynamo Is Dead, on Thursday. In the horrifying death-defying act, Dynamo was seen climbing down into a grave as assistants threw buckets of dirt over him, ultimately burying the star alive.

He had a mere three minutes to escape the suffocating with five tonnes of soil. With bated breaths, fans watched as Dynamo managed to dig himself out in two minutes and 47 seconds. Many viewers believed they figured out what tricks he used to climb out of the grave.

According to some fans, Dynamo managed to stand up quickly and with subtlety when the camera angles were moving around.

They theorised that Dyano had to control his breathing while the soil was thrown over him before he freed himself. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one user said: "The camera pans away from the bottom of the hole for about 20 seconds whilst the digger drops the dirt. By the time the camera pans back, he’s already near the top. From that point it’s a breath control exercise.'

One was disappointed by the act and wrote: "Some of those tricks were quality but not that believe he's buried when the camera moves away nonsense...." Another fan shared their theory and posted: "Anyone watch that buried alive with dynamo?!! Obviously what happened was they chucked the couple of buckets of dirt on him the camera panned away he stood up before the tipper wacked the 5 ton on him!"

More people believed the trick was successful due to camera angles, with one user saying: "Wow he managed that without getting his face dirty!!!! Very clever what camera angles can do." Some people thought he might have a secret compartment installed in the grave.

One user said: "'Enjoyed all of the show and the messaging other than the last trick! He had plenty of time to move himself to a trick ledge away from camera," while another added: "'I love @Dynamomagician but surely the burial is set like a wwe buried alive match and then the camera panned up here went into the secret compartment?"

Dynamo previously explained why he chose to name his show Dynamo Is Dead. He said it was because the show would be his 'final act' under his stage name before he moved on with his career. He chose to be buried alive in his show after struggling with the death of his grandmother, Nellie Walsh.

"She got me into magic and I felt like it had died with her. I needed to bury the part of me that had died with her," he said. "When I came up with the idea [of being buried alive] I felt like I didn't have a lot to live for. But I have realised that I do have a lot to live for, a lot more magic to give and this is something that I need to do for me."
