Teenager falls onto path of oncoming train but miraculously survives

A harrowing video shows the moment a teenager falls in front of a moving train after fooling around with friends on a station platform.

Miraculously the 18-year-old survived after being hit by the train and dragged along by the suburban service in Moscow. The horrific incident was caught on a security camera and begins when the male victim shadow boxes with two friends.

He steps back and trips, falling off the platform in front of the arriving electric train. He is hit by the front of the train and thrown between it and the platform. The man is dragged along for several seconds before his friends at Kuryanovo station pull him out and the train comes to a halt.

Early reports on the footage said he had died at the scene. But the transport department of the Russian Investigative Committee confirmed that the friends saved him by pulling him onto the platform and carrying him into the station where they called an ambulance. He was rushed to hospital and is receiving treatment for multiple injuries.

‘A young man aged 18 was taken with injuries to a medical institution and is currently undergoing treatment,” said the committee. An investigation is underway into the incident. The incident was on 4 December but is only now reported.

In November a similar freak accident saw a woman cut in half after falling out of a bus and getting hit by a train. Julia de Albuquerque Violato was in a bus that ended up on the train tracks as an approaching freight train careened towards it. Shocking footage captured the final moments before the 37-year-old was killed under grisly circumstances.

Even more tragically, Julia had been reportedly running clothes to a charity shop in Brasilia, Brazil, at the time when the crash happened, right before she died. Footage, filmed from a camera in a nearby car waiting to cross, showed the freight train honking its horn just before it slammed into the bus. Julia was thrown from the bus and landed on the train tracks, where she was cut in half by the oncoming train. Alongside her tragic death, five people were injured.
