Ed Sheeran posts rare photo with wife after after admitting 'marriage trouble'
Ed Sheeran has shared a rare loved-up snap of himself and his wife - after previously hinting his relationship has been in trouble.
The 32-year-old chart-topping star has been married to childhood sweetheart Cherry Seaborn, 31, since 2019 and together they share daughters Lyra, three, and Jupiter, one. While Ed and Cherry keep their love life largely out of the public eye, a gigantic spotlight of solar proportions was thrown onto their marriage this year when Ed himself hinted at some marital strife via the lyrics of one of his songs.
Back in September, Ed unleashed his seventh album, titled Autumn Variations, and this included a song called Punchline which included the cryptic lyrics: “I can’t help but be destructive right now. It’s been weeks since I saw your outline. In my room is a silence so loud. This is what losing hope might sound like.” The emotional chorus of the song included the lines: “I can’t help it but I love you so. I can’t take this letting go. I still feel like we could work it out or something. All I am is only flesh and bone. Why’s your heart so freezing cold?”
Devout fans were thrown into panic over the song, fearing it spelled the end of his marriage to Cherry or hinted at marital troubles for them. But Ed has since calmed his followers by sharing a photo of himself with his wife.

The second of which showed him with his arms around his wife and planting a loving kiss on her cheek. In the photo, Cherry looked blissful as she smiles at the intimate gesture.

The couple are also surrounded by bottles of champagne and wine, while a birthday sign can be seen in the background - however the images were published in December and Ed’s birthday is in February and Cherry’s in May. Weeks earlier, Ed had shared another photo of himself with his wife out for dinner together.
However, that photo showed them sat opposite each other, with Ed flipping the bird at the camera - with the image looking far less romantic than the more recently shared image. The marital snaps have been overshadowed, however, by an image Ed shared of himself cuddling up to a cat.
Music fans were more excited to see a photo of Ed cosying up to Taylor Swift's cat, Meredith (Instagram)Fans spotted the image and immediately recognised the moggie as being that of fellow music superstar Taylor Swift. Fans reacted to the batch of images and were beyond excited to see ed posing with the animal.
One fan demanded: “MEREDITH??” alongside a string of question marks. And another commented: “Ed confirming that Mer is alive is the highlight of my week.”
The snap has encouraged fans to believe that Ed has met up with Taylor to re-record their 2017 track End Game - as Taylor is re-recording the album it comes from, titled Reputation, as part of her ongoing back-catalogue refresh. The American star was left enraged when business rival Scooter Braun bought the masters of her first six albums.
She has been rerecording and reissuing the albums, with the sub titled [Taylor’s Version] in order to continue profiting from her past work - and to cut her rival from making money off her past hits.
