With the temperature dropping, it’s certainly starting to feel like winter is well and truly here. Luckily, Disney+ has everything you need to get well and truly in the Christmas spirit.

There’s lots of great Christmas content from the House of Mouse to ensure this festive season is a merry one. As well as being the home of Marvel and Star Wars, Disney+ is gearing up to launch some big new blockbusters in the run up to Christmas with the premiere of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and the debut of the all-new live-action fantasy series Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

All of this great content can be enjoyed with a subscription to Disney+, which now costs £4.99 a month for its Standard with Ads plan. But by signing up to an annual subscription, members can get the equivalent of two months free with a Disney+ Standard or Premium plan – which can also be sent as a gift.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Home Alone

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without this 1990 classic. When young Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) is accidentally left behind when his family goes on a Christmas trip, he is left to defend the family home from two bungling burglars.

In this original animated film – based on Jeff Kinney's hugely successful book series – the winter holidays are turning out to be especially stressful for Greg Heffley (Wesley Kimmel). After accidentally damaging a snow plough while making a snowman with best friend Rowley (Spencer Howell), Greg worries he won’t get the new video game console he so desperately wants for Christmas.

To make matters worse, he gets snowed in with his family, including his grumpy older brother Rodrick (Hunter Dillon) and annoying younger brother Manny (Gracen Newton).

The Santa Clause

On Christmas Eve, divorced dad Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) and his son discover Santa Clause has fallen off their roof. When Scott takes the reins of the magical sleigh, he finds he is now the new Santa and must convince a world of disbelievers – including himself.

Disney+ has also launched the second season of The Santa Clauses, an original series that picks up with Scott having spent nearly 30 years in his role.

Frozen

Fearless optimist Anna (Kristen Bell) sets off on an epic journey – teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven – to find her sister Elsa (Idina Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter.

Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf (Josh Gad), Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

This 2005 adaptation of CS Lewis’ classic novel follows four siblings who find the world of Narnia through a magical wardrobe while playing hide-and-seek at the country estate of a mysterious professor. Once there, the children discover a charming, once peaceful land inhabited by talking beasts, fauns, centaurs, and giants that has been turned into a world of eternal winter by the evil White Witch (Tilda Swinton).

Aided by the wise and magnificent lion Aslan (Liam Neeson), the children lead Narnia into a spectacular climactic battle to be free of the Witch's glacial powers forever.

Jingle All the Way

Workaholic businessman Howard Langston (Arnold Schwarzenegger) promised his young son that Santa will bring him the number one item on his Christmas wish list, a Turbo Man action figure. The only problem is that it’s Christmas Eve and the much sought-after toy is sold out, leading Howard on a nightmarish and madcap scramble across the city to find the toy.
