When asked why he is single, Kai revealed: "I’m single by choice. I’m looking for the right girl. I feel like I have quite high expectations.

"I don’t feel I should commit to someone unless I’m absolutely buzzing over them, because it’s not fair on them."

Kai is passionate about sport as he is a PE teacher and previously played rugby for Jamaica – but is also really into his family and friends.

Biomedical science student Tanya, 22, is already a rising star on Instagram as she boasts more than 11,500 followers on the social media platform.

Tanya, who was the first Islander to be unveiled, opened up about her Vitiligo diagnosis as she prepared to make her on-screen debut.

She said: "I have Vitiligo, which is a skin pigmentation, you may not even notice it. It's on my lip and I have a stripe on my hair. Not many people know that but I think it’s quite cute. I don’t care about covering it up all the time, I think it’s a vibe."

As well as a brand new set of sexy singletons heading into the villa, Love Island fans can also expect a brand new host for the series, too as Maya Jama is fronting the ITV dating show after taking over from Laura Whitmore.

The new series is also expected to feature and old face – after Adam Collard reentered the villa following his stint in series four in 2015.

Arabella Chi, 31, is reportedly expected to return to Love Island after she appeared in the fifth season of the dating show in 2016.

She teased her upcoming villa stint in an Instagram post as she shared a photo of posing by a pool and teased in the caption: "Super excited for the year ahead coming back on your tv screens this month so keep your eyes peeled as you won’t want to miss it".

Love Island starts at 9pm Monday 16th January on ITV2 and ITVX.
