Taylor Swift has shared that Travis Kelce's romantic gesture of giving her a friendship bracelet was "adorable" but she thought it was "metal as hell".

The pair, who are the hottest celebrity couple of 2023, have been in the public eye since rumours of their romance were confirmed, all thanks to Kelce's "New Heights" podcast.

Swift performed at Arrowhead Stadium, home of the Chiefs, earlier this year, unaware that Kelce was in the audience. She later found out through his podcast that he had tried to give her his mobile number. Although he didn't succeed that night, his story piqued her interest and their love story began.

"This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell," Swift told TIME Magazine. "We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I'm grateful for because we got to get to know each other."

Kelce and Swift kept their relationship under wraps until the singer attended her first Chiefs game, where she saw them triumph over the Chicago Bears at Arrowhead. Fans have been curious about when Kelce and Swift made it official, but it seems they were already an item before that game.

"By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game. We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date." Swift clarified. "When you say a relationship is public, that means I'm going to see him do what he loves, we're showing up for each other, other people are there and we don't care."

"The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you're seeing someone. And we're just proud of each other."

In the episode that caught Swift's eye, Kelce shared his plan to give the singer a special friendship bracelet, something that fans get at all her concerts. Kelce joked that he was "hurt" after failing to carry out his plan, but ironically this led to him achieving his goals.

In the podcast with his brother Jason, Travis Kelce revealed that he wanted to give the bracelet to Swift after the show, as due to his connection with the Arrowhead staff he believed he could meet her after the concert. However, Swift doesn't speak to people after shows to protect her voice.

Kelce, on episode 50 of the "New Heights" podcast, expressed his disappointment: "I was a little butt hurt I didn't get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her," and "If you're up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets handed out. I received a bunch of them, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it," the Chiefs star added.

He also revealed, "She doesn't meet anybody or at least she didn't want to meet me, so I took it personally." Now, Kelce has a personal connection with Swift, thanks to his decision to share this story on his podcast.
