I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here's Nella Rose was the second campmate to be evicted from the ITV show earlier this week and her pal Geordie Shore's Nathan Henry says he knows the reason behind her exit.

The Geordie Shore star, who joined the show in 2015, says that the British public completely "misunderstood" her and "persecuted" accordingly. Speaking to the Mirror ahead of the explosive Geordie Shore series which airs in January next year, he said: "I think people misunderstood her, like a lot of people were saying get her out because Nella is the type of person that just says what's on her mind and I don't think someone should be persecuted for that."

Nathan is set to appear in the upcoming series of Geordie Shore January next year

Nathan, who met and bonded with Nella at the MTV EMA's last year added: "I think she was entertaining, she didn't hide who she was and when you go on shows like the jungle, that's exactly the whole point of it and you show all aspects of who you are. And to be so brutally honest and be that open about who she is.... I think she did a great job and I'm sad that she's been voted out."

The YouTube star, 26, was the second star to be eliminated from the show after frustrating fans with her arguments with First Dates star Fred Sirieix and former UKIP leader Nigel Farage. And, on the back of this, Nella was voted out after 17 days in the jungle.

Nathan added: "Just because it was voting to save doesn't mean they hated her or anything like that, it just means that more people voted for someone who they wanted to be in the show. I've not messaged her yet, I'm going to message her on Instagram."

When Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly joined the camp and revealed the news that Nella would be the latest star to be evicted, she said: "Ohhhh! Oh my god, oh my god thank you guys so much" and embraced her campmates. Tony Bellew told her: "You are a winner, you've done amazing."

And, after walking the famous bridge for her post show chat with the duo, she said that she wanted to join the show to face her fears. She told them: "To face my fears, which I did crying and running away from them some of the time! It was way scarier than I thought. I thought chucking me in there with a bunch of spiders would be fine but it wasn't."

Addressing her heated exchange with both Farage and Fred, she continued: "Oh my god, you used everything. I am not usually put in situations where people don't have opinions in the same walk of life. So when they have different mindsets, and I hear them, I'm shocked because I'm not used to hearing people think like this. So automatically, you have to say something about it because what they've said to me it's kind of shocking sometimes. But it is what it is."
