Newsboy's racing tips for Tuesday's three cards including Lingfield Park
BELCAMO (1.00, nap) is fancied to show the benefit of a promising start to his career by landing the Boost Your Acca At BetMGM/EBF Restricted Maiden Stakes (Div II) at Lingfield Park on Tuesday.
The Andrew Balding-saddled son of Belardo wasn't unbacked – never a bad sign for a Kingsclere debutant – at 100-30 in a field of 13 for a one-mile maiden at Kempton Park last month.
And it was only his inexperience that prevented my selection from getting his career off to the perfect start.
Soon towards the back of the field after a sluggish beginning, Belcamo and Oisín Murphy still had more in front than behind as the runners turned their heads for home.
But, under a sympathetic ride from his jockey, Belcamo came home with gusto inside the final furlong to be beaten three parts of a length and a nose behind Timetobenice.
Newsboy’s Daily Double plus tips on every race from Thursday’s four meetingsThe form is probably unexceptional and the first seven were covered by a couple of lengths, but the promise in Belcamo's racecourse bow was unmistakable and he should make his presence felt here.
Later on the Lingfield card, ARTISTIC DANCER (3.05, nb) is the one to be on in the Boost Your Acca-Fenwa With BetUK Handicap.
Charlie Johnston's stayer finished a length behind Sea Me Dance over a mile and three-quarters at Wolverhampton last time out but a 2lb swing in the weights and the return to two miles will help his revenge bid.
