Earlier this year stars of Channel 5's 22 Kids and Counting Sue and Noel Radford announced that they were taking a break from filming, before embarking on a fourth series.

And it seems the rest has done the family a world of good as viewers are set to get a real insight into how Britain's largest family prepare for Christmas. The festive special is set to air on Sunday 17th December but it looks as though Sue will have her hands full even more than usual, as sibling rivalry reaches boiling point - casting a shadow over the festive period.

A spokesperson for Channel 5 said: "The escalating tension between Luke and Chloe, who are currently not on speaking terms, has reached a point where it could potentially shatter the festive joy. Adding to the turmoil, son Daniel drops a bombshell, revealing his plans to move to Australia in the upcoming year, leaving Sue devastated." Viewers will witness how the Radford family celebrate with loads of presents, a huge trees laden with decorations and a "colossal" trolley of treats for the entire family.

The family first shot to fame in 2012 when they appeared on the Channel 4 documentary 15 Kids and Counting. But it looks as though Christmas may be in jeopardy after Sue leaves the family home to seek solace at her mother's house as things become too much for her to handle.

The spokesperson says fans will have to wait to find out if Noel can "rise to the challenge and reunite the Radford’s, saving Christmas and preserving the essence of their unique family dynamic?" Back in March Sue issued a statement ahead of the fourth series informing fans that they were taking a well-earned break. Taking to social media the statement read: "They took to social media to share: "We just want to say a huge thank you for all the love and support you’ve shown throughout our series, we truly appreciate each and every comment and message we’ve received so thank you. "

She added: "So chuffed to say our programme was no.1 on ch5 most Sundays and doing really well on my5 every week with it being the most watched programme on my5. We are currently having a well earned little break from filming before heading into filming series 4 which we are very excited about."

And fans rushed to comment on social media. One said: "Aw fab! Love following your family. Wishing you all the best!" And another person said:"What a amazing family lovely couple and kids dont be of screen for to long enjoy your rest or is that a silly comment."

A third shared: "Love the show looking forward to the next series. Having grandparents that had 11 children and yearly family gatherings hiring halls to fit everyone in that’s what it’s all about," with a fourth adding: "Love the program about your lovely family."
