Ever wondered what waitresses really think of you, or if they're sending secret signals to their colleagues about you, or your order? Two American Steakhouse waitresses have finally revealed all, and the honest truths may surprise you.

In a viral video, TikTokker Kelly - who goes under the handle @kelly.ella86 on the social media site - shared her and her colleagues' brutal thoughts, which include their annoyance over customers' special requests, singing 'Happy Birthday', and couples who sit side by side instead of opposite one another.

The clip, which has racked up over 213,000 likes on the platform and bookmarked over 8,000 times, was captioned: "Romanticizing our job." Speaking in the video Kelly and another mystery female took it in turns to share what they really think, and the conversations with fellow staff about guests behind closed doors.

Kelly shared: "We’re waitresses, we’re gonna get upset when you order a Coke and a water and only drink the Coke. "We’re waitresses, we’re going to laugh at your jokes because you pay our bills” chimed the other waitress.

The clip continued: "We're waitresses, we're going to tell you your food's almost ready when we've most likely just rang it in. We're waitresses, we don't have the authority to turn down the thermostat just because you're cold. We're waitresses, we are going to get yelled at when you ask for special prep. We're waitresses, we're going to talk about you in the kitchen when you order a hot tea."

But the one that has flummoxed most, and remains on an ongoing debate is the seating arrangement. The clip continued: "We're waitresses, we're going to judge you when you and your boyfriend sit on the same side of the booth."

Viewers of the video were in agreement with the servers about this and shared their own thoughts on the matter. One person read: "No seriously, just stop. You’re embarrassing yourself. You may be trying to declare to the world that you’re madly in love, but you’re just making yourself look bad. I almost feel like you’re playing a game with the general public called ‘Let’s see how awkward we can make everyone else feel.’ And you’re winning,"

“I hate it when it encroaches on neighboring guests and when they are getting all PDA", vented another viewer.
